Charming Michigan City Cottage

Enjoy a getaway steps from Lake Michigan's Sheridan Beach in this cozy cottage that is great for quiet comfort, family fun, a romantic getaway, or a weekend with close friends. There are many activities nearby including Washington Park Marina/Park/Zoo, Sheridan Beach, Blue Chip Casino, Lighthouse Premium Place Outlets, and downtown Michigan City restaurants, all a short walk or bike ride away. The area also has several wineries and breweries. Additionally, for those wanting to enjoy concerts, sporting events or a day trip exploring Chicago, the South Shore Line now offers a 67-minute train to Chicago from 11th Street in Michigan City, which is approximately two miles from the cottage.

The beach is just a four-minute walk from the front door. We provide a beach wagon, two beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels, a cooler, a few ice packs, and some sand toys for your enjoyment.

The serene back patio is surrounded by trees and is great for relaxing in the evenings. A grill is provided but please clean this after use.

The charming house features 1 queen bed in the primary on the main floor and two double beds in the upstairs loft. There is one full bathroom with a shower. A hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and lotion are provided for your convenience. The home has a tv with Comcast cable. We also have WiFi and a small selection of books to borrow for your next good read.

Lovely lake cottage
This is our third summer staying at this cottage and it is always clean and well maintained. The location is great being just a few blocks from the lake, close to the zoo and close to restaurants. The neighborhood is quiet and very family friendly. This is a great spot for a family.

We enjoyed our stay. The house is about a 5 minute walk to the beach. We also walked to the zoo, which took about 10 minutes. The location is great. The only negative was the bathroom shower was pretty moldy in the corners. The bathroom could use some upgrades. The house was overall clean and comfortable in great location for visiting the beach. A Great Retreat for Family Time
My husband, my 14 year old daughter and our 1 year old Havanese (first time traveler) had a very relaxing and fun time! We had lazy mornings, walked to the beach (like 10 times), the zoo, watched the sun set and did a 300 piece puzzle! We read books, listened to music, visited Dune Billies (ate delish food and bought T-shirts!). We shared friendly banter with locals and other visitors, too. Awesome memories that we will cherish!! The cottage had everything we needed and was just perfect in every way! We hope to visit again soon 💕.

Pet friendly in Michigan City
Found this place for its pet friendly status and close to Indiana Dunes. For those reasons, it was great. However, when checking in, we found the unit to be not what we expected. The bathroom was bad. Fortunately the host quickly moved us to the other unit. This unit was better, but in all honesty both units need some serious upgrades, especially the bathrooms.

Well located beach house
We stayed at the house for the second year in a row and had a wonderful time exploring the beach, zoo and going blueberry picking. The home is located very close to the beach and has a wagon to help move the chairs and sand toys for the easy two block walk. It is close to the zoo and downtown restaurants as well as Washington Park. The house is the perfect size for my spouse, myself and our two young kids. The house has tons of amenities and was a great place to relax between adventures. We will be back!

There were not enough wash cloths for 4 people,1 kitchen towel,no paper towels. The grill had food dripping on the front & the grates had food stuck on them. The patio area was filthy not inviting at all. We contacted the people in charge & they said they would contact their cleaners & they showed up 2 days later while it was raining & she wiped the front of the grill off 7 then entered the cottage across from us.

Our family had a great time staying here! The walk to the beach was very reasonable. We were able to carry everything we wanted and get there in a few minutes. The house had everything we needed for a great stay, plus a few extras. Having one bathroom could be tricky for some but worked for us. The information from the listing and from the hosts was accurate and timely. Totally recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The house is very close to the beach and the pad on the sand was very helpful for pulling a wagon and children! The house was very comfortable, clean and the owners were so generous with having it well stocked with everything needed! We all got great sleep there on the very comfortable beds! I enjoy traveling, exploring new areas, listening to live music, reading, playing games, and attending Broadway shows. I get excited to try different foods and cocktails at local restaurants in new places, and I am a lover of all animals. Through traveling, I have learned that the accommodations in which you stay while visiting a destination can make or break an experience.
