Short walk to beach in secure building

This is a decent 2BR/2bath condo a short walk from the beach. We booked last minute and were thankful it was available. However, it was not sufficiently clean when we arrived (sand on the floors and counters, spilled potato chips in/under the sleeper sofa bed, clearly unwashed quilts and blankets, unwashed dishes/coffee maker with old food/grime). We swept and sipped surfaces. We had to wash all bedding before we could go to sleep the night we arrived. We had to run dishes and silverware through the dishwasher before we used anything. I understand the unit has short turnover between guests but it should be properly cleaned every time. The cleaning crew is NOT doing a sufficient job in between guests. Vacationers don’t want to clean other peoples’ messes before starting to enjoy their trip. The owner/property manager should resolve this issue immediately and finally, especially since it has been noted by prior guests too. The patio has a view of the bay, which is lovely. Spectacular sunsets! However, the patio also directly overlooks the pool area of the next-door Hampton Inn, which was busy and noisy until 10 pm every night. In addition, the Hampton Inn is brightly lit all night long. The master BR blinds and curtains at the patio do not sufficiently block the light to make for a good night’s sleep. The owner should install better window coverings to block light. Otherwise, there were no problems and we enjoyed our visit and time in OC. Property management company makes it easy to check in late. The building is secure and feels safe.

Beautiful bayside gem

Property fit our family of 4 perfectly. Beautiful views and walkable to our favorite restaurant on the bay (45th street taphouse). Enjoyed the pool each evening as well!

Bayview with convenient local

The condo is conveniently located. The view was wonderful to wake up to and to relax on the balcony in the evenings. It was amazingly quiet as you couldnlisten to the sounds of crickets even as you were in the heart of midtown. I would recommend this condo for a family get away.

Stayed for 3 nights

Stayed with a party of 6 and we all fit relatively easy in the condo. My only complaints were checking in there are not nearly enough carts (we even checked in on a week day) and overall I thought the property would be cleaner. I had to wipe down the whole bed frame in the room with bunkbeds because it was filthy. The floor was so dirty we couldn't walk bare foot because they would end up black. We ended up sweeping and vacuuming the second day and there was so much dirt, dust, and what seemed like animal hair or something. The showers were not very clean either. It didn't seem clean enough for the price you pay is all I'm saying...

Family vacation

Condo is in a great location. Everything was clean and as advertised. The only negative was the noise pollution in the area. Could hear upstairs neighbors and next door...stomping, flushing of toilets etc, also noise from the outdoor pool in the next door hotel. The pool from the photos is not with Makai. Location and set up was still great and would stay here again though!

Over all the Makai is a great place to stay, family oriented. Second bed room has everything for a tv but no tv in bedroom. We brought are own and then had to figure out how to hook up with the mess of wiring behind the dresser, after a hour we prevailed. Vantage Realty on the other hand is a pain to deal with, called 3 times no one ever called me back to answer my question. This was in October not very busy this time of year, checked calendar two days before check in no one on the calendar. Still couldn’t get in until 4:00pm. Arrived in OC around 1:00 went to office told I checked saw no one was in unit they didn’t even check said we couldn’t check in, but they had my money. Had to use another realtor for the second condo went to them they checked said no one had been in the unit and that we could check in, and if any problems give us a call. They even reminded us and they were using covid19 procedures. We visit OC at least 3 times a year and most of the time we rent 2 condos each time, we will make sure to use another realtor.

Excellent property exactly as advertised!

The property was exactly as advertised and fit our needs perfectly. We had 5 people on this trip. 2 adults and 3 teens with plenty of room for everyone. If using the dryer set it to timed dry. The More Dry and Less Dry settings do not work well. We had plenty of hot water for the of us to freshen up after a day at the beach. This property was recommended by a friend and I plan to recommend it as well.

Nice for a small group getaway!

7 of us stayed in Makai 216 and we fit very nicely. The property was immaculately clean and comfortable, and came with a ton of things we weren't expecting, i.e. kitchen towels, plates, etc. Kathy from Central Reservations was incredibly helpful at check-in, check-out, and the few other times we needed to speak with her during our stay. The location was absolutely perfect for our purposes - Seacrets, Macky's, the beach, etc. We were able to walk almost everywhere we needed to go. I would definitely make an effort to stay in the same condo if I returned to Ocean City. All of that said, I feel I must mention that we were incredibly uncomfortable when we heard screaming from across the hall in the middle of the night to the tune of "HELP! GET OFF OF ME!" and we, along with others staying on the floor, were compelled to call the police. After speaking with many people it was determined that the people staying across the hall had rented for the weekend and were not owners of that condo, so that wouldn't deter me from staying here again.

nice condo with a beautiful view and bed bugs

I stayed in the condo in August 2018. The condo was nice and the view was beautiful. I highly recommend you check the master bedroom bed for bed bugs before sleeping there. I contacted the owners to let them know I was bitten by bed bugs. Their response was "we have had the condo checked for bugs, we do not have bugs." I did ask when was the last time they checked for bed bugs. I did not receive a reply. I would not stay here again.

Location and View

We stayed here for New Years. The condo was very clean, had a great view of the bay and was located close to the places we wanted to visit. Most people will stay in the summer but we had a difficult time getting the condo to stay warm when the temperature outside dropped below freezing.

Awesome fireworks display!!

We really had a great time at this property. It was very convenient to many attractions and we had a front row seat to Seacrets fireworks display which were awesome!!! There was only one negative that turned me off to this property, and that was the stained carpet in both bedrooms. We really didn't want to take our shoes off. My suggestion would be to tile the entire floor. It was nice being able to sweep up what needed to be so quickly. Other than that the condo was very nice.
