You could have not asked for a better location! Yards from the beach, great little coastal town and a short drive into the main city.

Very Dated Property

The property is located in a great location, right on the beach so that was amazing. Otherwise, the place really needs some upgrading. Only one small TV in the entire house! The TV was located in the living room area, located inside a cabinet. This made it impossible for more than a couple of people to watch TV at one time and with football games on, we had to go to the local sports bar to enjoy the games. The smoke alarms needed batteries and were contsantly chirping. Called maintenance but didn't get a call back. Had to call again the next day. Cable wasn't working when we arrived. First night no TV or internet. No hot water in the one of the bathrooms and the other the hold and cold were reversed. Creepy attic upstairs that was roped off for guest use but you could still see it. Called rental company and was told a property manager would reach out but never did. Very disappointing and embarrassing to say the least.

We did go through the week so it wouldn’t be so crowded. My only complaint would be that by the weekend we had rowdy neighbors playing loud music and being loud themselves outside. The house is a little outdated but it was roomy and had a nice screened in porch to enjoy the breeze and watching the waves coming in.

The home we rented had a gorgeous view of the ocean and a huge grassy backyard for my grandchildren to play wiffleball and other sports. The house needs some updating, but it was clean and functional for us. The owners should consider adding a larger television in the main room and some more towels and beach towels. The screened in porch with rocking chairs was delightful. All in all we had a wonderful week at the beach.

On the Beach in Off-Season

One of the older places on the beach; needs just a little TLC. Great screen porch; upper deck needs new furniture; all but one of the upper deck plastic chairs were cracked and too weathered by years of sun and salt. Lovely view from upper deck. Big yard. Beds are not very comfortable...master and really more like cots in other 3. Closets had plenty of hangers but need larger dressers in the bedrooms. Traffic on Palm Blvd is a bit of an issue (noise and safety) and at night as well...constant stream that never ends...but you are on the ocean Enjoyed our stay; family joining us from MA and NY did as well. Island Realty immediately dealt w/ issues like ice maker, dishwasher, toilet. Also they should replace the TV and get cable...even if sparingly used, Visio, streaming service not ideal. I'd also replace the coffee maker. With 8, we'd rent a slightly larger place next time, especially if have younger children. Value for the money was spot on...unfortunately for the IoP, the beach, especially on the ocean, has become a row of McMansions...with multiple new constructions and renovations at a rapid totally unreasonable prices for a month's stay in the off-season. If you are looking for a nice, traditional beach house (not a McMansion or home) on the ocean at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. Children will love it and you are on the end of the beach that gets a bunch of beautiful sea shells!

This oceanfront home was thouroughy enjoyed by my husband who loves to surf, his wife (me) who loves to boogie board, a son, daughter-in-law & three year old daughter (one of our precious granddaughters) who just love to hang out at the beach, swim, dig in the sand! The interior decor is relaxing. The screened-in porch including a hammock was an added bonus! While not a newer home, this home is a true beach cottage. Please don’t expect this oceanfront home to be a brand new build. But who needs that when one can see and hear the tide roll in & out, view the night sky w/o city lights, all without leaving the property?!

Perfect Beach House

The house itself is just perfectly situated to offer optimal beach/ocean viewing. The screen porch ROCKS! Hammock and comfy rocking chair make sitting watching the waves and dunes a top notch experience. Then in the evening when the sun is setting (or early morning) the deck offers a different view of the ocean and surrounding landscape. The addition of the new walkway offers a nice touch as well. We love the fact that this is an old time beach house, not a new frilly modern mansion. The huge dinning room table is comfortable for meals and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking the most elaborate of meals. There’s even a food processor. Best of all, the rental company is making sure the house is CLEAN, which in the past, has not been our experience. It was move in ready on this trip and all appliances worked well. The bathrooms could be updated but they are fine for an old fashioned beach house and were clean and serviceable.Perfect house for 3 couples as we used the fourth bedroom for overflow products, luggage and storage. We were VERY SATISFIED with our stay (although, rental prices have skyrocketed in recent years, argh.)

We spent so much time on the porch looking at the ocean. The house was clean, had all the utensils/plates/cups we needed. It was easy to work with Island Reality to book everything and the tours we took around town that they suggested worked out perfectly (Sandlappers boat tour and Palmetto Horse Carriage). We truly enjoyed staying at this house and would love to come back!

Excellent Christmas Vacation

I wanted a place to spend Christmas with my daughter and husband coming in from Europe. This house was the perfect fit for us! We had lots of room to spread out, and my family nearby could come and go to visit with us. We felt like it was truly our own for four days. I felt the spirit of the family who own the house and it's clearly full of great beach memories.The house was super clean, spacious, the bedding is excellent, and the overall layout is great. It's not a fancy "new" home, but that doesn't take away from the benefit of being right on the beach with killer views. The hardwood floors are well maintained, there's a big table for meals, and the kitchen is well stocked for meals/food prep.The bathroom on the left side (facing water) could use an upgrade, but it would not deter staying again. Maybe adding additional lighting in the living room for the evenings would be helpful. But, no deal breakers for us.Easy access to the beach; tons of privacy and space. It was perfect for us. Happy memories indeed. Thank you!

October Beach Time

The kitchen was well equipped with adequate space and good appliances. The overall layout of the house was good. A few detail improvements are needed. The master bath needs updating with a shower faucet that is temperature compensating. The tub is also slippery. We used the shower in the adjoining bedroom because it had been updated and was safer. The light over the dining room table needs to be repaired. The internet is very slow at a measured download of 10MB/sec. The kitchen cabinets need some hinge repair.

At one time in the life of this house it was fantastic... but has now faded somewhat from lack of maintenance. On the positive side, the bedrooms are very nice and the living room is fantastic ... on the negative side the furniture is well used. On the positive side the house is bright and well lit in the daytime by the wonderful windows... at night it is dark from lack of lighting. The location of the kitchen is very nice and the wide bar and nice kitchen table are excellent... on the negative side the pots/pans/etc... seem to have come from kmart a decade ago.overall we had a great time in a great location... the house is worth the price for the view and location... it is just too bad they don’t keep it up.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of the house is fantastic... the views are awesome and it is great to be that close to the beach. At one time in the life of this house it was fantastic... but has now faded somewhat from lack of maintenance. On the positive side, the bedrooms are very nice and the living room is fantastic ... on the negative side the furniture is well used. On the positive side the house is bright and well lit in the daytime by the wonderful windows... at night it is dark from lack of lighting. The location of the kitchen is very nice and the wide bar and nice kitchen table are excellent... on the negative side the pots/pans/etc... seem to have come from kmart a decade ago.overall we had a great time in a great location... the house is worth the price for the view and location... it is just too bad they don’t keep it up.
