Long response time & given wrong code for door

My family and I booked this VRBO 4 months in advance to stay in the night before we headed into a cruise ship. For the week leading up, I messaged the host letting them know that with our flight we wouldn’t arrive until midnight and I wanted to see if someone would be available then in case we had no questions. For the 2-5 days before the trip- no response after a couple a messages and nobody answered my calls or voicemails. I contacted VRBO support and after they reached out to the host, we got a response. We ended up getting check in instructions the day before, but when we arrived to the VRBO at 12:30am, the code to get our keys that was written twice in the instructions was wrong. I messaged the host and was on the phone with customer support and luckily the host answered with the correct code, but it was frustrating that we didn’t have the correct code to begin with. The place was “clean” but the quality of some of the appliances were not up to par. For example, the toilet handle was really loose and felt like it was gonna fall off. The location was great though and was a short drive to the port.

Unclean, Bare, Poor Communication, Lied about parking

I usually don’t complain but this experience was pretty bad. Reached out days prior to check in day to ask about receiving check in information only to have the host not respond til I called support the day of. Also had made sure to ask about parking before booking this rental; the host said there was parking for a flat rate of $10 a day. Arrived only to find they lied about this and parking was actually $3/hr 24 hours a day and had a 5 hour limit so you have to re-pay every 5 hours! This would mean I pay $72 a day. When I reached out to ask about the parking situation I was ignored, had to coordinate with Vrbo support to get any kind of compensation. Mattresses were stained with sweat, one even had blood. Kitchen is understocked only with the bare necessities, no baking sheets or spatulas. We were provided 1 towel in a suite that has 3 beds… No dish soap, no trash bags, no hand soap in the bathroom, 2 rolls of toilet paper, that’s it. Definitely don’t recommend staying here these guys are crooks.
