Smelly and Disappointing
When we arrived at the condo on Saturday, there was a terrible sewer smell throughout the entire 3 floors. We had no WiFi or tv and there was no one on the property to help us until Monday. The Bocobay staff was very polite, and tried to help. For days we had a stream of plumbers traipsing through the condo trying all sorts of remedies to solve the problem. Every day we woke up with headaches. Representatives from management came to chat with us and told us they would get back to us about our situation and how they would make it better for us. We never heard from them again. In the meantime, a young couple who was renting another unit was refunded their rent, relocated to another property and given a car to use because their unit also had a bad smell from a previous washing machine leak. Then they got up one morning and their floor was covered with toilet paper, toilet water and feces. Obviously, this condo has some serious plumbing issues. Eventually, one plumber was able to improve the smell in two of the bathrooms. The sewer gas smell was not there constantly, but did come and go. The third floor bathroom still reeked and we were unable to use the 3rd floor at all. Bocobay decided a 50% refund was adequate for our unpleasant experience.On another note, there were so many mosquitoes that we could not enjoy any time outside without being eaten alive. The staff told me sometimes they spray, but they hadn’t recently.A very disappointing 42nd Aruba vacation!
