Relaxing and Quiet

We have been vacationing at Harbor Island for many years and had our own home there for 20 years. This home provided what we sought-- relaxation. Was a little disappointed that there were no bikes there...and also I thought there was supposed to be a ping pong table. Not a huge deal. We enjoyed our time there very much, and especially loved the top level that looked out over the water.

Lovey house, quiet close to the beach

Very nice setup. Golf cart works great. Loved taking it to the pool. Pool is gorgeous and empty. Kitchen is well appointed with everything you need. Nice appliances. Wildlife is enchanting, especially from the observation deck. Neighbors are quiet. Short walk or ride to the beach access. Wagon, toys, chairs, and cheap umbrella provided. Shower outside for sand. Very cold AC. Dreamy covered porch. Excellent response time from property management. There are 3 porches total. One of them houses the grill. Worked great. Pro tip: Join the wifi network ending in 5g. The password doesn’t work for the main network listed on the materials. I don’t care for the living room setup. Not easy to get comfortable or cuddle while watching tv. The set is wicker, so it’s durable, but you can’t recline or get comfy. There’s a specific rule not to move the furniture …Probably because most people want the couch facing the television and have moved stuff around. We mostly watched tv in bed instead at night.

Great location, close to the beach!

We had a great stay here at this house so close to the beach! We enjoyed the use of the golf cart but also it was so easy to walk to the beach as well. We had lots of wildlife sightings from the porch which was really fun for the kids. The property manager was very responsive about some very minor issues we had and got them resolved for us very quickly. The house could use a deeper clean from previous guests pet's hair but other than that it was fairly clean. Overall, we enjoyed a great stay and loved the location and home!

Summer Getaway

We had an awesome time on Harbor Island and in the home, Break Time. The roof top deck allowed us to see lots of wildlife from birds, snakes, turtles and alligators. The home was cozy and close to the beach. Family and friends were staying in other homes on Harbor and we all met and ate and enjoyed each other’s company. The home had central vacuum system which made it very easy to get sand off the floor. Natural Retreats, the managing company were extremely nice and knowledgeable. Their customer service is second to none: before during and after our stay. We had one of their homes in the past and were grateful when we heard this home was with them as well.

Perfect Getaway

This was my 7th time at Harbor Island. I finally introduced this beautiful place to the love of my life. He was really impressed with the beautiful and comfortable house. It was our first vacation together. Each evening we would sit on the swing in the screened in porch to just talk and listen quietly to our favorite tunes. We will come again.

This was my family's second time staying here and it was better than before. It's the perfect location to the neighborhood pool and private beach.. Short distance to hunting island as well. The house was super clean and the golf cart was a bonus!

Porch Getaway

This was a very well kept property. Our family loved , loved the screened in porch complete with a hammock, porch swing and rocking chairs. We spent a lot of time out there early in the mornings and afternoons talking , laughing, and reading! The neighborhood and neighbors were fabulous and very welcoming and friendly! The marsh view and star gazing porch was amazing! The property came with a golf cart for easy access to the pool , beach access, and other amenities on the island. The kitchen was well stocked and we didn’t need for anything. The staff communicated storm warnings to us and checked on us upon arrival. They were so nice but did not hinder our stay in anyway. I’d highly recommend this house and stay again. It was perfect for our family of 4 and poodles.

Fantastic little house for a couple or small family. Easy beach access and a golf cart to cruise around the island. Roof top deck was extremely nice for full moon viewing.

Met our needs nicely!

This house was perfect for our Thanksgiving getaway. The location was convenient to Beaufort and Hunting Island State Park, and since it was a pet-friendly unit, our dogs were able to join us for the holiday. We hope to rent this unit again!

Great House!

This house was extremely clean. It was a short walk to the beach but the golf cart was great for hauling our stuff to the beach. We enjoyed the hammock on the screened in porch, and especially enjoyed drinking our coffee on the roof top deck as we watched the birds around the canal. This was our first trip to Harbor Island and we could not have had a better time! It was very quiet and relaxing vacation.

Very disappointed

The location is great, but this house is in disrepair. The grill didn’t work. The lock on the sliding door was broken. Ice dispenser was broken. No lights on the golf cart and the windshield is broken. We were given 3 different wi-fi networks and had to call to finally get the right one. Intake vent was obnoxiously dirty. If it were my choice, I would recommend that VRBO remove this property. It certainly does not meet their normal standards. There are not two tub/shower combos- one tub/shower, one shower. I have never posted a bad review on VRBO, but this property earned it.

Golf Cart is a bonus

I have been visiting Harbor Island on and off for more than 30 years. So I know it very well. Breaktime is the only two bedroom home on the island. All the other 2 bed/2 bath are condos. Other nice feautures of this home are the golf cart and screened in porch. The beds are comfortable and all the kitchen applicances work just fine. For some people, having a pet friendly home with a back yard is probably a big plus but that was NA to me. I noticed two reviews on VRBO before my scheduled arrival date and I emailed you and asked that the home be cleaned. The items mentioned in the reviews were still an issue when I checked in. I will send you pictures in a separate email as I am having issues transferring the pix from my phone to computer. B/c dear friends were visiting me at Breaktime, I packed cleaning supplies and spent several hours on my hands and knees cleaning baseboards in the living room and master bath and bedroom. However, I could not remove the black dust along the living rooms ceiling and my friend noticed them. So I explained the house situation, something that I was hoping not to do.All the baseboards, ceiling fans and kitchen tile grout were fifhy. I am questioning if the house was cleaned that well in the spring. Even it were clean in the spring, I should not have to rent a dirty home in late August. If the dirt was caused by dogs and cats, doesn't the pet deposit go towards extra cleaning? Or, if the home is not as clean in August as it is in April/May, then give me a reduced rate!!!We did not put anything in the bathroom vanities as they are yucky. Towels supplied were just ok.Usually home have extra nice, fluffy towels in a closet.We liked the sunroom as we like to watch the birds and gators.

Was a great place 2 years ago...now? Not so much

It’s a decent place but the AC couldn’t handle temps in the upper 80’s & the Mgt company didn’t really do anything. One person I emailed later never responded. Several windows are so old/warped we had to put tape across the bottom to keep the cool air in. There were too many bugs in the house for us & it was just not as clean as it should be. For example the floors were so dirty our feet were black after walking around barefoot for about five minutes. One base cabinet in the kitchen looked like it had black mold all in the bottom but not sure. And there were not enough outdoor trash cans at all for a weeks stay. We will not rent this house again.

Great views

we stayed a week in July. the location was great and the golf cart was good to take your chairs and cooler to the beach. the house needs a good cleaning but everything else was great. we will return next year.

Great time in low-country

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the property. The house was nice, the location was great for experiencing the area around Beaufort. We especially enjoyed watching the turtle patrols on Harbor island and hunting island. The only negative is the house could use a deep cleaning especially around corners and behind furniture. This became apparent for us when a cockroach came crawling out from behind the bed on our last night there. Ruined the night for my wife. But otherwise the property and location are great for a vacation on the beach.

Paradise on earth

We had an amazing stay on Harbor Island!!! It was a perfect place to stay with my wife and girls. Close enough to the beach to easily walk back and forth. No big crowds on the beach. Hunting Island State Park is beautiful and a must see. A very relaxing vacation spot. The worst part was having to leave.
