Coastal Cottage #166 offers a unique and rustic atmosphere reminiscent of simpler times. With a 2-night minimum stay, it's perfect for a quick weekend retreat or a longer, relaxing vacation. This home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and sleeps a total of 5 guests. The first bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the second bedroom, which is accessed by walking through the first bedroom has one queen-sized bed and one twin bed. The kitchen is equipped with the basic necessities needed to prepare meals while on vacation. The kitchen has a stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, and a 12-cup drip coffee maker. There is no dishwasher. A dining room table is located adjacent from the kitchen and seats six people. The warm and welcoming vibe of the living room will make you feel right at home. There is one Smart TV in the living room and comfortable seating to enjoy time with family and friends.

**Please note that this home is for those who appreciate character and charm over modern conveniences. There is no washing machine, dryer, or dishwasher at this property.**

Bed linens and bath towels are included in your stay, however, beds WILL NOT be made prior to your arrival. Linens will be dropped off at the front door before you arrive. This home welcomes 2 dogs max, so bring your furry friend along to enjoy the beach with you! Beach vacation

This is the prefect little beach cottage! Its age and decor reminded me of my childhood summers at the beach with my grandparents. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the first step off the parking area slopes down. It gets very slippery when wet.,

Coastal Cottage 166 Topsail Beach Summer 2024

Quaint, We realized prior to staying at Coastal Cottage that there was not a Dishwasher or Washer/Dryer. This was not a concern to my family. We also realized you had to access one bedroom by going through another. Again not a concern to my family. The work around was using the beach facing door and going through the back porch to access the kitchen / family room area. Great access to the wide, seashell full, white sandy beaches. Overall, a very positive experience. I would like to highlight a few negatives that, I feel, the owners could handle with small expenditures and a bit of "TLC". First, the deck walkway to the beach had a sitting area where you could actually view the ocean. We used this area often. Unfortunately, the first time it was used one of the benches collapsed. When I checked further it was obvious that one support was missing and the other was barely hanging on. Lucky for us no one was injured. I will mention that when I sent a work order request about this problem someone showed up to fix it that evening or the next morning. I cannot remember but know it was handled quickly. Second, the cottage had no gutters. During rainstorms, not uncommon to the beach, rainwater would, almost, flood the middle door facing the beach side. Also, water would pour into the porch area. Other notable concerns were all the rusty hooks, nails, and screws that were exposed. Like mentioned before some "TLC" would make this place so much nicer.

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very disappointed in this cottage. The outside shower did not work. It looked like an easy fix but has not been repaired which led to lots of sand clean up in the house. The ceiling fan in the back bedroom didn’t work. The showers were so small that the water from the shower head hit the walls up high so it was impossible to give a child a shower properly. The house was very cheaply and sparsely furnished. The lighting on the outside was very dim. Hard to find the house in the evening when walking on the beach. Obviously the owners don’t take pride in their home. I do not recommend this property.
