Memories On Medcalf is a cozy, comfortable, and inviting retreat in downtown Dale, Indiana, absolutely perfect for a fun and relaxing family getaway or vacation. Whether you're traveling to Spencer County for Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, Santa Claus Indiana, or Lincoln State Park, we have exactly what you're looking for with our accommodations!
Our retreat offers a full kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer/ice maker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, coffee, coffee creamer, waffle maker, blender, sandwich maker, pots and pans, dishes, cups, coffee mugs, wine glasses, beer mugs, cocktail glasses, flatware and cooking utensils, ice cream scoop, pizza slicer, towels, washcloths, and dish soap. There is bartop seating for 4 on barstools. Additionally, there are two bedrooms; one king size bed with bedding and pillows and one full size bed with bedding and pillows. The living room offers a loveseat with a pull out twin bed with bedding and pillows. Relax on the couch or in one of the bedrooms to watch your favorite TV show or use the DVD player to watch your favorite movie! Wifi is provided free of charge; network and password provided upon check in. There is one bathroom with a toilet, sink and vanity, shower stall, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, towels, washcloths, hand towels, hair dryer, curling iron. The bathroom features a washer and dryer with detergent, fabric softener, stain remover and dryer sheets.
Board games, card games, books, puzzles, and DVD's are also provided for your entertainment.
Take a short walk to the Dale Town Park to play a game of basketball or volleyball, enjoy the playground and swings or cool off in the water splash pad. Take a short drive to Dale Town Lake for fishing or to just relax and soak up the sunshine.
There are several restaurants, gas stations, a grocery store, a Dollar General Store and a liquor store within walking distance and many more restaurant and retail shopping opportunities throughout Spencer County that are of close driving distance.

Short Stay, Forever Memories

We stayed here while we visited Holiday World. The beds were super comfortable, the host was easy to contact, & the area was relatively quiet. If I ever go back to Holiday World, I will 100% try to rent this property again!

Home Away From Home

This was a wonderful find! The property is clean & has so much to offer. My kids were thrilled to find popsicles & a basket of goodies! My husband and I were blown away by all the xyz that were available if needed: men and women’s shampoo & conditioner, body wash, & lotion. There was even sunscreen, tanning lotion, & aloe!!! Toothbrushes for kids & adults. The list goes on!! A bookshelf of movies, coloring pages, & crayons! The kitchen is fully stocked for meals and even had some cooking spray, aluminum, staple seasonings, coffee, creamer , & paper plates! Having a long stay? Theres a washer & dryer available!! My only “complaint” is there is no vent in the bathroom & the kitchen floor there’s a few spots that the flooring is messed up and would catch our toes if barefoot. The hallways can be a bit tight if you are larger. But, everything was clean , comfortable, & all the pros out weigh any of the bad.. which are very picky and limited. It truly felt like a home away from home!! I’d highly recommend for couples or families.

Great Memories!

Awesome time! Loved the small town and the Vrbo was prefect! Clean and great parking. Had a great time also at Holiday World. Hope to be able to do it again soon.

Convenient for Holiday World!

Great stay! We much prefer a Vrbo vs small cramped hotel rooms for our family of 5. Everything was as advertised and the kids liked having some snacks and drinks stocked 💙

Fun vacation

I really thought the place was so quaint and so quiet except for the loud trucks that go by, but that was OK. Very well-maintained and very well stopped we enjoyed our visit very much.

Close to Holiday world

Cute place close to Holiday World. Host was great to communicate with - even gave us a good restaurant recommendation for after the park closed. Location was great. Came with a bundle of snacks which my kids appreciated and all the bathroom amenities one needs, including brand new toothbrushes! Would def stay again!

Fathers day trip

Host was wonderful. Communication was great. Super accommodating. There were even 2 kinds of Sunny D in the fridge which my son absolutely loved. Will use this host everytime I visit Holiday World.
