GEM of a home to share with friends/loved ones!
Most importantly: I always look for A/C when renting somewhere, and this house does not have it - and had I not stayed myself I would never have believed we wouldn't need it in the month of July, but not once did I wish we had it! I was blown away. When you open the windows and shutters, and turn on the ceiling fans, the house stays breezy and comfortable all through the day and night. I was really surprised, and really impressed. We sometimes found ourselves at night with the front door open to the scent of the flowers out front, and the sliders on the other side of the living room open, and the breeze kept us all happy while cooking and laughing and watching television together. It was DREAMY with the fresh air and sound of the breeze!
The kitchen has everything you could possibly want or need. The living room is comfortable for everyone. Every one of us had our own private room and bathroom, which was wonderful. We loved sitting outside on the lanai and relaxing and watching the stars. We loved the flowers and plants all around the property. We loved waving at the neighbor across the street (who has an adorable boston terrier). The house is very conveniently located near a Food Land and some restaurants and shops, and is a very, very short ride into Hanalei.
The beds were comfortable, and the linens and towels were all clean and soft. At night, rain moved through (almost on schedule) and the sound of the rain outside, the breeze through the window, the comfortable accommodations, we all slept wonderfully. Our days were sunny and magical.
I cannot think of a single thing this property is lacking or needs. Do NOT let the lack of a/c scare you - we literally were just here for a week in July, I am a sweaty-betty, and I was very happy all week with the magical breezes. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We loved everything about our stay, about the house, about the ease of getting to shops and things, what a week. Thank you so very much to the hosts! What a special, wonderful home we were able to share on our unforgettable trip.
