The Rio Grande should be just over peak flow so fishing should be great anywhere. Here is a nice map of the public lake and river fishing in the area.

If you really want to catch some fish and have a great day I recommend https://www.wolfcreekanglers.com/ Contact Rick Walker at 530-318-5694, They do both float and wade trips on the Rio and NEW Rick told me they just struck a deal with a property owner 20 miles South of Monte Vista with over a mile of private frontage on the Alamosa River. Rick said it is special so you might want to give him a call. I haven't been down to the private land yet, but plan to go.
