Helene Update 10/22: AVAILABLE NOW! This home is back in service. We are under a boil water advisory so please bring drinking water if you plan to visit before Nov 10.
Bear Naked is right between downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, only 3 miles in either direction. The house has 2 sections, each with a living area, kitchen and outdoor spaces. Great for extended families, or small families traveling together. Hot tub, fire pit, dogs welcome!
Fully renovated, with plenty of parking in a private setting, this beautiful new rental has it all. And yes, we do have the occasional bear! Immerse yourself in nature as you enjoy the wooded area around the house. Gather with family and friends around the camp fire, enjoying a relaxing evening after a day of adventure in nearby Pisgah National Forest and along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is the perfect home base for biking, hiking, kayaking, and enjoying all the outdoor attractions that make Asheville famous.
Our home is ideal for large families and for small families traveling together. Both sections have a kitchen, living area, dining and outdoor spaces. Enjoy togetherness with the option to retire to your own place any time. It’s a great option for teens and kids to have some privacy, or for extended families who want an area for themselves. There are lots of places inside to gather for dining and socializing, and plenty of room to spread out. The location feels remote, yet downtown Asheville and its shopping, dining, breweries and music venues are just 3 miles down the mountain. The Blue Ridge Parkway with its stunning views and unique family oriented attractions is just 3 miles up the mountain by road or neighborhood trail at Craven's Gap (BRP MPM 377.5).
Miles of hiking and mountain bike trails are a short drive away. Explore Pisgah National Forest and the other national and state forests like Gorges National Park and DuPont State Forest that are an easy day trip from here. If you love restaurants, downtown Asheville is a prime destination. Some of our favorites include Posana and Bouchon, serving French comfort food. For some River Arts District eats, try the Bull and Beggar, 12 Bones, the Smoky Park Supper Club and All Souls Pizza.
Breweries and bars abound. The River Arts District boasts New Belgium, set in a beautiful new building overlooking the French Broad River. Other favorites include Green Man downtown, Asheville Pizza and Brewing, and Sierra Nevada close by the airport. Most breweries offer tours where you can get some of the history and taste the offerings.
