Das Castlegate befindet sich direkt neben dem Schloss Otttis am Strand von Vilano / St. Augustine Area und ist zu Fuß zum The Reef Restuarant. Es handelt sich um 4 Stockwerke mit einem 1000 m² großen Sky Deck auf der obersten Ebene. Es hat derzeit 6 Schlafzimmer. Es gibt 4 Vollbäder und 2 Krafträume. Die Maximalbelegung beträgt 14 Personen. Es gibt eine riesige hintere Veranda und einen Innenhof, der von Küsteneichen umgeben ist. Der Zugang zum Strand ist direkt über die Straße. Beautiful House

The property is beautiful and clean. Beach across the street. The king bedroom bed is very comfortable as were most of the other beds. The main living room/kitchen has plenty of space for central gathering. There are multiple decks, 2 overlooking the back courtyard and a rooftop deck. The reason that I did not give 5 stars is because there were some issues. 1. It is advertised as 6 bedrooms. There are only 5 usable bedrooms that are true bedrooms. 3 on the upper floor and 2 on the main floor. The bedroom in the basement has a couch in it and it is not a pull out couch. We needed that space as we had 11 people. We called the owners and they said that the cots in the closet were the "single" beds (no linens). No one wants to sleep on a cot, not even a teenager. 2. The decks are fantastic as is the courtyard but they can only be accessed from inside the house so if you wanted to go from one area/deck to the next, you have to walk through the house then up the inside stairs and out a slider to the next deck. This would not be so bad, however, there is not enough seating for you to enjoy the spaces. There are 6-8 plastic Adirondack chairs (in total for the whole house) that you must take with you through the slider, through the house and up the stairs to the next deck/patio. Having outside seating on each level outside seems like a no brainer. 3. The do's and don'ts of the house were not made known to us until we were ready to arrive and were quite extensive. The pavers being the center of a lot of rules. The pavers are beautiful but they need to be sealed to help ease the minds of the owners who are renting out this property. No red wine, no peeing (can't believe that has to be a written rule), no car oil. The master bath tub is fantastic, however the wand to rinse yourself off and clean the tub out after you use it is missing the handle to actually turn the water on. I assume the owners have concerns about water damage and removed the valve to use it. 4. If you flush anything down the toilet, you will pay. Turns out, they have a problem with their septic that has nothing to do with the people using the toilets. There was a horrible raw sewage smell while we were there. They sent a plumber who said nothing was our fault. Turns out there is another locked bedroom in the basement that had raw sewage backing up in it. The owners brother came and cleaned it out, gagging the whole time. They did give us money back for the inconvenience. Overall, nice place though.

Perfect girls weekend

This house is perfection ! My daughter is getting married so the ladies wanted a quick beach trip before the big day. We had the best time , beach right across the street (easy access) , downtown for dinner and entertainment , then roof top wine at nighttime. Owner and manager were so helpful and made things super easy. We will definitely visit again

Amazing home w/ some disappointments!

First of all, the house is breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL! The rooftop sky deck is unlike any other! We had an amazing time! I am a very positive, upbeat person & do not tend to complain, but there were a few, shall we call them, disappointments? These didn't hinder our wonderful time together, just surprised us b/c of the amount of money we were paying to stay there & the fact that they were so inconsistent with the grandeur & upkeep of the home. It truly surprised me. I know things break down/run down, but some of these concerns have been this way for a while. Perhaps the owners were not made aware. The disappointments...we were hoping to grill out ALL of our meals. A house of this magnitude would certainly have a very nice *gas* grill...nope, just a small, older charcoal grill tucked away in a far away place around the back of the house. So, we didn't grill anything. We've stayed in much smaller, more inexpensive homes that have gorgeous gas grills for us to enjoy in the summertime and wintertime. The lovely master bathroom shower has a v-e-r-y slow drain, so we were standing in ours & the person who rented before's *leftovers* (hair & who knows?) while showering. We were going to take off the drain cap & clean it out but just couldn't bring ourselves to do it... Lastly, the kitchen floor is sinking in front of the sink. Perhaps there has been water damage, rotting floor, but it does need to be repaired. It catches one off guard every time you pass through, & one of these times, it may cave in. I'm assuming it's been this way for a while? It truly caught me off guard each time I stood at the sink. The house is beyond AMAZING! These disappointments were incredibly inconsistent with a rental home like that. I would definitely stay here again but hope that these things get some attention so other guests can enjoy everything to the fullest!

Loved This House!!!

Booked this house for myself and bridal party (7 bridesmaids).This house was so spacious, clean, and comfortable. Everyone who came to visit was in awe! I was given a thoughtful gift upon arrival and the hostess even brought over a steamer as she was aware that it may have come in handy when getting ready for the big day. I would definitely book this property again.

The home was all we expected and more great time the views are breath taking from the castle next door to the Ocean to the west across the street. Also you can catch some amazing sunsets from the roof.

Lovely

We loved this house. Our group included 5 moms and 6 seniors in high school. There was plenty of rooms and bathrooms. The kitchen and living area were a great place to hang out. The roof top was beautiful for morning coffee and late night talks. I was super worried about being across the street from the beach but it proved not to be an issue. It’s a very easy and short walk to a beautiful, spacious beach; lots of people but never crowded. You do have to cross A1A so maybe not the best for smaller children. There are two fantastic restaurants within walking distance, Capp’s and The Reef. Both have amazing food and atmosphere. Finally, it was very easy to communicate with the owner and everything was in perfect working condition.

Relaxing and beautiful time

We had a beautiful view of ocean from huge roof top deck. Home not on the beach but easy access. Home was beautifully decorated and open and bright. It was big enough for my family and we had a great relaxing time enjoying each other. We shared dinner each night in the roof top deck. Breathtaking with wind blowing and in the open air.

Great location, spacious house!

We really enjoyed out stay at this beautiful house. Went to the beach everyday for swimming, fishing, watching dolphins. Beds were very comfy in every bedroom. I would definitely come back again!

Family vacation

Stayed 5 nights in this perfect setting! Where else can you watch a sunset next to a castle?! The star of the house is the roof deck where we gathered every night to watch the sunset and ultimately catch shooting stars! Bring a telescope if you have one! Beach access was easy and the beach is fantastic with very low numbers of other people. The back courtyard was also fantastic for corn hole, group pics, etc. St. Augustine is a great place to explore with lots of great food options. There is also a grocery store just 3 miles down the road. My only critique is that it could use a few more comfy chairs in the living room. We would come back here tomorrow if we could work it out! Beautiful rental!

I rented Castlegate for our annual family trip. We had 13 adults and two children with us. The house was perfect. The sky deck is roomy, beautiful, and perfect for sunset pictures. The house is a short walk to the beach and less than 10 minutes from downtown. The owner is accommodating and accessible. We had a couple hiccups that were handled quickly.

Wedding/ family reunion

This was the most memorable event of our lives. We brought both sides of our families together for the first time, and we had a GREAT time. There were some very minor problems that were easily and readily resolved by the team which speaks to their availability and professionalism throughout the entire process. Family from Va, OK, NC and SC, IND and even Colombia, South America..We might make this an annual holiday meeting spot.

Great Vacation Home!

Great place to stay!

This was a wonderful weekend of reunion with old friends. The house is very spacious, with a fantastic open kitchen, dining and living area. Bedrooms are large, with a fantastic master. Beds are very comfortable. A wide variety of dining options are available nearby. We had a great time and look forward to a return visit in the future!

Would 100% Recommend

I would recommend this property to any large group or family for vacation. The house was very clean, and very spacious. It allowed for my entire family to spread out over several floors. The rooftop deck is amazing! There was a small plumbing problem while we were there, and the owner immediately sent somebody out to fix it. He is very responsive.

awesome house.

The house looks like a model home and accommodated our family of 10 with no problem. All the furnishings you would need for a great vacation are provided. The view from the top deck are beautiful (castle on one side, beach on the other). The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms (especially the master) are very nice. Would highly recommend for any family gathering. Publix is 2 miles away and caps was a very cool restaurant right on the water. Great property!

Best views in Vilano Beach!

This very nice and new beach house has the best views in Vilano Beach. The rooftop sky deck is a great place to hang out and watch the waves roll in and the castle next door is really cool. The interior is brand new and beautifully done. The kitchen is huge and open to the living room, which is surrounded by windows everywhere to see all the views. This is a great home to vacation in with a large family or a lot of friends. The beds are so comfortable. Lots of parking. The courtyard is a great entertaining area as well. My family will be coming back year after year.

Stunning inside and out with spectacular views

Castlegate is an amazing house, well laid out, and decorated with a designers touch. The house exceeded our expectations. Our first impression was “it is so clean, bright and inviting”. The beds are all extremely comfortable, all memory foam, with no pull out couches or day beds. This property description is completely accurate, with a well appointed kitchen. The house was immaculate, and the grounds were pristine. The owner made contact immediately after our arrival to answer an questions, customer service was perfect. We rented this property for an annual girls trip, 12 women from all over the country who come together to participate in the national breast cancer marathon. This was our 9th year, and our 1st year in this house. We will be back next year. I cannot say enough about how beautiful the house is, well maintained, decorated and furnished. I would recommend this house to friends and family. We enjoyed dinner out one night at “The Reef” and enjoyed the town of St. Augustine. The beach is right across the street and there is a grocery store near by.

Absolutely Breathtaking

From the moment you pull into the driveway the house is stunning! The inside is bright and airy during the day but at night it's surprisingly cozy with all the unique light fixtures. The layout of the house is great for family get togethers and fit our family of 12 comfortably. Right across the street from Vilano Beach, walking distance to amazing restaurants, and a 10 minute drive to the historic downtown St. Augustine, makes this house worth every cent. We loved our stay and can't wait to book our next vacation at Castlegate.

Wonderful Beach House

What a house! The rooftop deck was amazing, we could see the beach on one side and watch the sunset over the intercoastal on the other. The decor was beautiful too, we used it for inspiration in our new house. There was enough room for our entire family and the house was big enough that we could all spend time together in the main living area area and also enjoy time separately in the different areas on other floors. The kitchen was great, it had everything we needed. There are a few restaurants and a grocery store very close by and downtown St. Augustine is only a few minutes away. The owner was very attentive to our needs before and during our stay. We will definitely be staying here again!

Gorgeous!! Perfect for a family vacation!

Far and above the typical beach rental home - the views are spectacular! The home is tastefully decorated and very well appointed. The property is gorgeous and filled with too many amenities to list. Wonderful home, I would definitely stay again!

We just finished this property as a retreat for my family. The location is absolutely perfect and the views are surreal. The house really came together nicely. We decorated and built almost all of the furniture ourselves to really capture the Coastal Elegant look we were after. This is a upscale luxury rental and not the typical beach house.
