A little piece of Paradise

This lovely cottage on Raymond pond is a gem. The kitchen is well equipped. Kayaks, paddle board and canoes along with life vests. Found binoculars to watch the wildlife on the lake. Beds are super comfy. We would definitely rent this again.

Still dreaming of loons

Every morning we woke the the sweet sound of birds and specifically the loons on the lake (why do they call it a pond?). Tea on the dock as the sun rose with our toes in the water. Catching and releasing tadpoles. The antics of the chipmunks. Cannot say enough about our time at this sweet cabin in Maine!

Wonderful relaxation with amazing views

My boyfriend, brother, and myself traveled to Raymond's Pond from North Jersey for a week of relaxation, and we found the perfect spot for our home base. We cooked many meals in the well-appointed kitchen, had a fire in the firepit, and sat for many hours enjoying the views of the pond. Celia was responsive to my questions and easily reachable. If you're looking for a place to get away, this is it! Supermarkets were easily accessible and plenty of activities to do, plus Portland a quick and easy drive. We look forward to coming back someday to enjoy more of what Maine has to offer. Thank you!

Plan on coming back!

Celia is an awesome host. She promptly responded quickly whenever I had a question. The supplies (cooking & paper products) she had an available was beyond what most would have. I went in May so the weather was on the chilly side, but her heating system was easy to use and efficient. One of the beds is heated! Loved that! The most important thing for me was there was no fabreeze or stinky plug-ins like air wick. Also local grocery stores were right around the corner and airport only 40 min away. Thank you for everything! DN

The property was staged. In reality the inside was nothing like the pictures.

We did not stay five minutes! We didn’t get our money or the cleaning fee back even though we spent no time there. We were embarrassed to have any friends or family join us. We have been in touch with VRBO and the owners with No satisfactory results.

Perfect getaway cabin!

We adored our stay here and thought this cabin provided the perfect little retreat. It was stocked with everything we needed and lots of thoughtful homey touches. We loved being right on the water and we made great use of the kayaks + stand up paddle. Celia was incredibly responsive and an awesome host! We’ll be back!

our favorite vacation

This cabin had been in my favorites for 3 years. Our travels usually involve a beach vacation, or long drives south to visit family. We decided to give Maine a try. When looking at the travel restrictions due to Covid, we almost canceled. SO glad we didn't. The owner kept us up-to-date with all the travel requirements and we felt confidant to go ahead with our plans. The town of Raymond is quiet and friendly. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The kayaks and paddle boards provided meant that we saved money on tourist attractions for our three kids. This was the vacation of a lifetime for us. We hiked, swam, and fished every day. We did not anticipate the neighbors being so close, but it ended up never being a problem. They were quiet and kept to themselves. The water was crystal clear and the weather was beautiful. We would go again next week if we could! One piece of advice I would give is to bring fans. There is no A/C, and it can feel warm if you are accustomed to living in A/C. The evenings get cooler and we wanted all those cooler temps in the cabin. We were glad we brought fans with us! Our family has vacationed multiple places between Canada and South Carolina, and this is by far our favorite trip ever. Can't wait to go back!

Great location

We had a wonderful stay at the Raybox Camp! The house was well equipped and the canoe and paddle boards were fun to take out. Our 2.5 year old had a great time swimming in the lake and playing on the dock. There is no A/C but plenty of windows and fans to keep the air flowing on a hot summers day. Our hosts were very responsive to our questions and we would easily stay here again.

Lovely Cottage on Raymond Pond

The cabin was perfect for a vacation. It was tidy and has everything you’d need except drinking water which you can buy at a local grocery — there are many Hannaford’s nearby. Loved the screened in porch. Kitchen is small but well appointed. Plenty of bath and beach towels. The grill was great to use and Celia included easy to follow instructions for how to use it. The dock on the pond was marvelous and as new parents it felt sublime to be eating dinner and having a drink with our toes in the water while our daughter was soundly sleeping inside - just what we were hoping for! Celia is an excellent host, very responsive on the VRBO app and answered all of our questions prior to the visit and while we were there within minutes. We came with our daughter who is 1 year old, and overall this worked well. Two things I wasn’t expecting were that the bedroom walls do not go up to the ceiling, and so noise does carry. Wasn’t an issue for us, but can imagine it would be an issue for some if you have a child that is very noise sensitive and you eat dinner later than them, for example. Also there was a lot of dog hair on the floor, which we noticed because our daughter crawls around all the time. It wasn’t a deal-breaker for us but if you are allergic to dogs, I think you’d have a hard time staying here. We also ran around the pond every day on the local roads - there is a nice, hilly 4.7 mile loop. There are tons of amenities a short drive away - laundromat if you need it, grocery stores, ice cream, etc.

Quiet and Peaceful

Our stay was very pleasant and peaceful. We enjoyed swimming, reading, and drawing. The walkway to the dock would be a little tricky for people with balance issues. The kitchen facilities were good. We had some very humid weather and had difficulty getting the cabin a comfortable temperature. Overall a good vacation.

First Vacation in Maine

As soon as we pulled up to the cabin we knew this was the place to spend our vacation ! We absolutely loved the view of the pond. The cabin was immaculate & all the things we needed to enjoy the water were all near & tidy in their proper place. We went kayaking daily & our son loved paddle boarding. We loved the location & everything was clean. Enjoyed fishing on Raymond pond & other lakes nearby. We went jet skiing & rented a pontoon boat for the day -all close by to cabin. Very quiet area & neighbors were friendly. We definitely will return & spend more time, 8 days wasn’t enough !

Rustic and simple

We had a great time at Raymond Pond. We used the paddle boards and boats daily, the dock was lovely. We took advantage of the proximity to Portland and spent a day in the city including a sea dogs game. We also attended the Gray blueberry festival and got a taste of Maine at its best. Although we had a great time there were a few off putting experiences in the transaction. First we were charged the full cost of the trip in February which wound up being over $300 a night including numerous fees and nowhere close to the advertised “average cost per night”. It also took over a week for our $500 deposit to be returned which may be standard practice for vrbo but was also unexpected.

Great Location & Amenities

We spent the week in this cute cabin on Raymond Pond. It was so nice to have canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards conveniently located for our daily use. The owners gave great suggestions for places to eat and things to do. If we ever come back to Maine we will definitely consider staying here again. Hopefully it will be a little cooler, the lack of AC was the only downside, but cooling off in the lake helped.

My husband and I went to relax away from work and the adult children and dogs. The camp was so clean and very comfortable! I love the porch looking over the water, and the pair of loons visited us everyday. Very quiet. Just what we were looking for! Thank you!

Cute, rustic, nicely decorated with dock leading to crystal clear waters of Raymond Pond

I loved the outdoor screened porch, deck, rustic interior and dock leading to Raymond Pond. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked which was greatly appreciated since we flew in from out of state. The refrigerator included some basic condiments and I assume some items (two gallons of drinking water {water from the tap is not drinkable}, soda, butter, etc.) were left from previous guests. There was also foil, plastic wrap, etc. It was greatly appreciated! There is no TV. However, the internet signal is really strong. The way the interior is designed makes it easy to hear every noise someone makes when sleeping. There is no sound proofing and the walls do not go to the top of the ceiling. This is because the cottage was designed for air flow of the propane heater. The propane heating system is located in the main living area and the open sections near the ceiling allow for air flow. The cottage is very close to other cabins. I wasn't expecting that. However, like I said, the cabin is very clean and I really liked the interior (other than no sound proofing at all). When I walked down to the dock, I was surprised how clear the water was. Since cabins are so close to the waters' edge, I expected it to be murky and polluted, but it wasn't murky. In the morning, I loved going out on the deck or dock. I could hear coyotes in the distance and other wildlife. It was very quiet and serene. Several ducks hung out on a log in the water that sticks out close to the dock. The dock includes steps on the side so guests can easily get in the lake for a swim or to get into a kayak or canoe which the hosts provide. This is a well kept, cute cabin where the hosts do all they can to provide for their guests. I liked it!

Wonderful lakeside cabin!

My husband, myself and our three children (11, 9 and 7 years old) just spent a wonderful, relaxing week at this cabin on Raymond's Pond. The house itself is beautifully redone, and well outfitted for a vacation rental. Our kids shared the second bedroom (bunkbeds and a twin) while hubby and I were very comfortable in the front bedroom overlooking the pond. The kitchen is small but suited our needs just fine, and we loved the huge deck and screened-in porch. The best part of this house, however, was the pond just steps away and the array of watercraft at our disposal. We all loved using the paddle boards and kayaks, and enjoyed exploring the pond, swimming and fishing. We wish we could have stayed longer and look forward to renting this house again! Thank you!

Beautiful and cozy cabin on quiet and serene pond - Absolutely perfect!

My fiancé and I stayed here for four nights in mid October and cannot say enough how impressed we were. The cabin itself is lovely, laid out nicely, and appears to be brand new as every fixture and detail was perfect. It's well decorated, the bed was comfy and while it might appear small it actually had a great deal of privacy. The pond it's on is gorgeous and we really enjoyed sitting outside having coffee around the fire pit or grilling on the deck. Celia herself is an absolutely incredible host. We had a few different questions come up and every time I contacted her she responded lightning fast in the most polite way possible. The area that the cabin is in is so charming and beautiful that it just added to how perfect the whole experience was, although if you need to get to a cinema or any stores - everything is really close! I highly, highly recommend this lovely cabin on Raymond Pond!
