Pretty Vacant is a lux/punk insprired 2BR/2BA apartment on Historic Main St. in Durham, NC, atop of the Killer Queen Wine Bar & Carolina Soul Records (hip Vinyl shop). The 1400sf space includes a Sara Foster designed chef's kitchen, Cozy gathering spaces & a killer sound system & big screen for movie/game night.
Hang at the bar before you wander up to your apartment.! Beautiful natural light & very convenient walkability to all things Downtown Durham make this your perfect luxury getaway.

Pretty Vacant offers you, our guest, a spacious city loft to wander from or relax in:-). No detail has been overlooked for your stay.
The apartment loft boasts 2 opulent bedrooms, each with their own spacious bathrooms, flowing into a sumptuous great room.
The chef's kitchen was designed by our own Sara Foster. Built around a generous center island, we keep it well stocked. You'll love making everything from coffee to a 4-course meal. The island includes plenty of seating, or you can make use of the formal dining table.
The living room includes plush gathering spaces, which can double as work spaces. The killer sound system & large screen projector (we prefer it over a TV) are perfect for a movie or game night. Or, turn up the turntable to debut your newest acquisition from the record shop downstairs!
Play with the lighting to create your perfect ambiance, whatever your mood!
Right out your back door you have access to the Killer Queen Wine Bar & patio (during operating hours ;-)) and the rest that Downtown Durham has to offer.
*There is a staircase to the entrance.

Super walkable & easy to catch an Uber/Lyft.
Rental scooters all around town.
Street parking & ample number of garages in walking distance.
You'll access the apartment through a law office parking lot - please note there is NO parking available here for guests, nor can you load/unload here. The businesses have 24hr/7day towing - so don't risk it!

* This space is primarily created as a short term rental space, but we understand it is also a gorgeous space for intimate special events. If you're interested in hosting an event, please mention it in your inquiry so we can discuss further. Additional event fees (above the night rate charges) apply as follows:
Up to 12 guests: $600 plus $175 total cleaning fee
Up to 24 guests: $1300 plus $250 total cleaning fee
* In the event that we [Killer Queen] are hosting a gathering in the apartment, the security cameras will be connected. For private stays they are visibly disconnected (you can see the wires unplugged). The security cameras are in the Hallway/ Living Room/ Kitchen Space. Bedrooms & Bathrooms are private of course.
*There is not smoking or vaping of any products inside the apartment. We have set up a smoking are by the wine bar patio for you. Please clean up your butts!
* Pets are not permitted.
* While there are no interior stairs, there are exterior stairs to the second-floor entrance of the apartment.
We use Safely as a third party screener for the safety of all of our guests and neighbors. As part of the the reservation you will agree to: "I give permission to the property manager to use a third-party to screen my identity and check criminal databases to confirm my reservation." Complete terms regarding the guest screening can be provided by the property manager. You may receive an email to complete your screening.
