Two beautifully remodeled rooms are tastefully themed as a vacation on the river! Float on peaceful waves of calm as you take in the scenery. Two private rooms and ensuite bathroom are located inside historic Castalian Hall. This stunning hundred-year-old victorian is 5,000 sq ft with tons of space. Entire house booking available.

Families are welcome but please be aware Castalian Hall is a couples retreat. Children ages 13+ are allowed. Children between ages 8-12 must be approved by the hosts before booking. Children under 8 are not allowed.

The room offers a luxurious hybrid queen bed with extra pillows for your comfort. Curl up inside our river bed and watch a flick on a brand-new 55” flat screen with Roku. The main room includes a desk with a dedicated work space, chargers, and fast Wi-Fi.
Throw on a turkish bathrobe and step into your private ensuite bathroom with jetted tub and shower. There is ample closet space with shelves and hangers for personal items.

The second attached bedroom is equipt with more sleeping spaces. This room can accomadate 2 more guests either in the bunk bed with two twins or a sleeper couch that folds into a queen. Extra bedding is included. This space adds extra room to strech out and relax on a loveseat for two with a 50' Roku TV.

We have thought of many extras for the comfort of your stay including two terry bathrobes, extra bathroom toiletries, charging stations, mini-fridge, and a Keurig with coffee pods. The River Retreat overlooks the only wooded acres in town in a quiet neigborhood. An ironing board is available upon request.

The first floor opens into an spacious parlor room with dining area. Our attached kitchenette is equipt with a Kuerig, microwave, and toaster for a quick breakfast. You also have access to dishware and wine glasses for a special evening. Its the perfect place to have a private dinner for your group.
The super spacious wrap-around deck is perfect for enjoying a morning coffee on our bistro table. At night, you can enjoy sitting under the stars on our back patio warming near our fire pit.

Around Town: The home is just a few blocks walk from the famous Berkeley Springs State Park, downtown market and diverse shops. Located in the center of historic Berkeley Springs, Berkeley Springs State Park is home to a mineral spa that has been in use since colonial times. The park is renowned for its warm spring water, which flows at a constant temperature of 74.3 degrees. The healing spring water is accessable through a channel that runs through the park and is open to the public year round. The park’s Old Roman and Main bathhouses offer a wide selection of spa services, including massages, saunas, baths and showers. Great dining experiences such as Lot 12 are minutes from your front door. If you would like any tips or suggestions about what to do in Berkeley Springs, we are happy to share. There is plenty of parking around the perimeter of the house off the road. There is one private driveway. A ramp on the north side of the house leads onto the porch for easy access. Each door is equipt with a key pad for extra security. Every guest will recieve their own code.
The second floor is accessed through the grand staircase of Castalian Hall with the original woodwork and features. Unfortuanatley, the River Retreat is on the second level and is only accessed from the stairway, NO ADA access.
