Wayfarer's Inn: Cottage Suite Nestled in a Woodland Setting Near Historic Square

Vintage inspired. Quiet and restful. Fully stocked kitchen and bath. Multi-use living space. Comfy outdoor seating. Close to local amenities and attractions.

===============================
OUR LOCATION
Wayfarer's Inn is located in beautiful Hickman County Tennessee. Much of what you'll experience here is a rich history of farming, homesteading, hiking, fishing, and off-roading. Locals who have been here for generations provide its strong sense of stability and family values. Newcomers who have been inspired by those values and who desire a slower pace in life offer a welcoming new vision for its prospering future.

Hickman County offers much in the way of music as well. Centerville is home of the longest running live radio show, the Grinder's Switch Hour, in Tennessee. It's hosted and performed by long standing local musicians and open to the public on Saturday mornings at 10 am in the old Ice House near the downtown square. Should you desire to check out our local scene our front porch is only a five minute drive to the Historic Downtown Square.

Wayfarer's Inn neighbors Hwy 100, which offers it's guests easy access to and from local amenities and attractions. Although it is busy with travelers, local commuters, and school bus traffic during the week days, one is unaware of the traffic when inside the premises. Weekend stays offer a quieter atmosphere and porch sitting is highly recommend. Its gardens are beautiful and the wildlife plentiful. This property sits back off the road, and the woodland surroundings provide a calming affect. Either way, whether your stay happens during the week or the weekend, time spent here is a lovely experience.

As your onsite hosts we absolutely love living and working here at Wayfarer's Inn. Hospitality comes naturally for us, therefore, as proprietors of this lovely, naturally wooded property it is our joy to share it with those desiring a quieter stay away.

Transplanting from the West Coast in 2018, we chose Tennessee as our new home to be near our children and grandchildren. They had made the move ten years prior, and with every visit here it became clearer and clearer just where we'd like to be, and being near the family in our retirement years was a must-do. In just the past six years since our move the grands have grown from boys to men. How we would have missed that had we chosen elsewhere. And, what a lovely place to settle during our retirement years.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Located in the heart of Middle Tennessee, this property sports a casual mid-century vibe, in a pleasant neighborhood of like, 1950's brick ranchers, bringing back great memories for both of us, of time spent with our Grannies and Papaws in homes and neighborhoods such as this. This place has now been our home since March of 2019.

With more house than we needed, we got the notion in the Spring of 2024 to create a lovely cottage suite from the basement apartment located below the main living space. So pleased with the outcome we soon expanded our idea to include an arts and crafts studio and gallery, to be located inside the adjacent barn, where we could further our creativity and showcase Jim's landscape paintings and Lynne's repurposed goods into unique wearable art or crafty home decor, offering an open door to guests at the inn for viewing and/or purchase.

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig

Its surrounding natural woodland landscape, neighboring wildlife, and central location to local amenities makes Wayfarer's Inn a perfect spot for your stay as you travel through Middle Tennessee. We are happy to open our doors to you for an enjoyable stay with us.
