Grandfather Cottage is cozy home in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains located between Boone and Banner Elk, giving you access to year-round High Country adventure. The home is located within walking distance of Grandfather Vineyard, offering wine, food trucks, and live music. The Greater Foscoe Gem Mining Company and Foscoe Fishing Company are both about five minutes away. Sugar Mountain is about fifteen minutes from the cottage and offers winter activities like skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating. Sugar Mountain has a public golf course and tennis courts for summer excitement. The golf course hosts sledding in the winter. Downtown Banner Elk offers local shopping, dining, breweries, and parks. Boone is about twenty minutes away and features restaurants, shopping, and outdoor activities including parks, the Farmer's Market, Horn in the West, and concerts.

Grandfather Cottage is a cozy two-level cottage with natural light and warm touches throughout the home. Upon entering the home, guests are treated to hardwood floors and vaulted tongue and groove ceilings with exposed beams offering warmth to the space. The living room has sleek furniture situated around the gas fireplace and HDTV providing a comfortable place for friends and family to gather. The neighboring sitting room has wonderful natural light from the skylight and large window, making it the perfect place to read a good book. The French doors lead to the side deck sitting area. The dining table comfortably seats eight guests and is open to the living room and a kitchen pass-through. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances awaiting your gourmet meal. The main level bunk room also serves as a game room ready to host game night with a foosball table and multi-cade arcade game. Step outside where you can enjoy the cool mountain air with your morning coffee, or enjoy a meal from the grill at the outdoor dining table. Grab some marshmallows and head to the fire pit in the side yard to make s'mores and relax in the Adirondack chairs amongst the trees and views.

Grandfather Cottage is a four bedroom home that can accommodate up to eight guests. The master bedroom is located on the top floor and has vaulted tongue and groove ceilings with exposed beams and skylights, a king bed, smart TV, and private ensuite. The ensuite has a jetted tub, step-in shower, and double vanities. The main level has a king bedroom, queen bedroom, and a bunk room with twin-over-twin bunks a TV, and an attached half-bath. There is an additional full bathroom on the main level.

*Allows pets with an additional fee paid after booking. The fee is $35 per pet per day.

Additional amenities include Wifi, central heating and air conditioning, and a large laundry room. Up to two pets are welcome with the payment of an additional pet fee. The home is accessed via a steep paved driveway with parking for up to three vehicles. There is a set of stairs leading from the parking area to the front door. AWD or 4WD is recommended for winter travelers.
