Auf der Suche nach Paradies? Hier ist es an der El Matador! Hat die meisten der Familie Urlaubsort an der Costa Smeralda gesucht werden. Eine abgelegene Wohnanlage zwischen den wunderschönen weißen Sanddünen und dem glitzernden smaragdgrünen Wasser des Golfs von Mexiko gelegen.

El Matador ist wirklich ein Strand-Resort. Nur zwei Meilen ab Santa Rosa Blvd am Ende der Insel finden Sie uns - ruhig, aber immer noch nur ein paar Minuten zu allen Annehmlichkeiten, die Destin und Fort Walton Beach zu bieten haben. Nur sechs Meilen hinunter Hwy. 98 Sie Destin genießen - "The Worlds Ertragreichstes Fischerdorf" - mieten eine private Reise oder nehmen die Kinder an einer Gruppe Boot und fangen Abendessen. Worst stay ever
Doesn’t give you a spare sheets, or beach towels and if you request an extra they charge an additional $30 and when you lock yourself out it’s a 100$ to have another key even if it wasn’t lost but just left on the counter The door is hard to lock, and the spare key they gave doesn’t work well with the door. Water pressure in the shower sucks!! You have to hold the toilet for it to actually flush, The couch bed is awful you can feel the springs in the couch bed there’s no extra bed sheets for the couch bed. The tv has only cable cant cannect Netflix/disney. Already had dirty floors sand etc no way to pick up the sand besides a broom, wish they had a vaccum The fan above bed is sketchy has no turn off except to unplug it This is not a place for small children, it needs a vaccum or someway to keep the floors clean. My feet turned black right after I’d take a shower. Out of 9 family members staying at el matador ours was BY FAR the woorrrsst condo. Also the “lift” for the condo is SKETCHY lol

Clean and okay stay
The staff were great during the booking and the property is clean and convenient to great food and town activities including the boardwalk. Beaches are amazing. This studio was clean and had very basic amenities for a rental. It reminded me more of hotel style stay compared to other rentals I have booked. Although it wasn’t bad, there were a few things that missed the mark. Toilet paper was the cheapest possible. Yes we buy our own for any stay but only providing one roll you would think it could at least be more than 1/4 ply. There are no blankets here except the hotel style comforter on the bed. Not even a throw. For someone who gets cold easy I wish I would have brought my own blankets if I would have known they didn’t have any. There are also no beach towels. We drove so we always have our own. I’ve never stayed at a beach rental that didn’t have beach towels though. And I’ve rental a lot. If you’re flying in you’ll need to buy towels. There is no paper towels or even salt and pepper. You have to buy all these things. I’ve never stayed at a rental that didn’t have salt lol. The property is nice and two pools. This room is close to the smaller pool. It was nice when it wasn’t full. We didn’t use the balcony because it’s right above the staff area and there were always workers below. We prefer quiet and privacy. Our last two days busses of church teenagers had arrived and we were unable to use the pools after that. They were packed with cannon balling teens.

decent and affordable
Building is older with noticeable age. Apartment was clean..came with towels..trash bags and even dishwasher detergent with dishes/ glasses..etc..would have been awesome to have included some coffee pods Pool was nice and well maintained..didn’t use the gym but it looked decent as well..would be great to have a couple Tesla superchargers on site Overall it was nice and will consider staying again

The AC is about the only thing that works
The management company was wonderful! We arrived a few hours early and were able to check in at that time. The property left much to be desired. We were on the second floor, there were carts available, but we had to use the dumbwaiter/lift as there was no real elevator. The couch bed was awful. Mattress was thin and you could feel the springs. Girls ended up taking the mattress off the couch frame and putting it in the floor to have any support at all, but we’re poked by springs all night. When we got ready to go, the couch bed woukd not go back into place. The remote for the TV was corroded with battery acid, and we were forced to watch Fox News if we wanted the TV on. The microwave didn’t work. The chairs on the balcony were so rotted out, we fell through one when we sat down. (We are not large people!)Shower pressure was basically non-existent. Toilet acted like it was going to overflow and flushed very slowly/weakly after the first day. Wi-Fi was spotty at the end, but we attributed it to the storms that came through. This building is no where near the beach. The view in the website that shows dunes is a restricted military area. Very misleading. You have to walk (or drive—it’s not a short walk) to the other side of the property to park for beach access. Not sure if it’s the way the building is designed/wind pressure changes, but every time we came back in multiple cabinet doors were open after we made sure they were closed. We joked we had a ghost. The AC worked tho!

Heated pool right outside the door and a short walk to the beautiful white sand beach! Only a short drive to Aj's and more restaurants/shopping in FWB or Okaloosa Island. Our realtor Austin was a perfect gentleman and went out of his way to be helpful and accommodating.

Great for a short trip
We really enjoyed staying on Okaloosa Island. It was much less crowded and much more low key than the Destin area, but conveniently located so you can drive in easily and quickly. We enjoyed staying at this property because it was located right next to an Air Force base, making it the last stop on the beach and very private and not crowded! The unit needed a little work in the kitchen area, but it was a great experience and a nice place. I wish there had been cookware available inside our unit. The pool area was very nice and we were impressed by the 24 hour security. It wasn’t right on the beach, but we didn’t mind the short walk. Great stay!

Good but dirty
Very affordable, secluded, and easy to get in and out, nice to have security on the property. We did find hair on the bed and on several of the towels, most of the towels were stained in a way that made them look dirty, the floors were also dirty when we got there. No elevator to access top floor of building 6, and the steps are narrow. This particular unit shows its age with the cabinets, some of which the drawers and doors were broke, wall paper, and bathroom showing the amount of wear and tear. Would still stay here again.

Definitely not what we expected
This property was definitely not what my husband and I expected. Pulling up to the property we were excited until we got to our building (6) It felt as though it was the outcasted building, not cared for or neglected There’s an elevator, but unfortunately it does not work The door to the condo is not sealed properly and it’s hard to lock the door The decor is definitely nice and engaging but that was just lipstick to a lot issues Several water spots on ceiling Mold in bathroom pepping behind dated wallpaper in several different spots A whole where the shower head is, where anything can crawl in Mold in popcorn ceiling throughout bedroom area and kitchen This could be a cute condo, but it definitely deserves much needed attention and repairs Looking at other condos in the building the patio could be more in inviting and appealing

Had I not been in a scramble to find something so quickly, I would have booked a different room/condo. Plenty of extra towels and wash cloths were provided and they were clean. The sheets on the bed were also clean. The room is very dated. Maybe look into upgrading the room and bathroom. The room itself as a whole was ok as far as cleanliness. While the floors appeared clean, they were not. We had to wear socks/flip flops around in the room the entire time because within minutes of our walking around in the room barefoot after arriving, our feet were black. The floor itself has probably not been mopped for months. In the bathroom, there was hair on the sink. In the shower in an area where the wall paper appears to be peeling off, there is black mold growing under where the wall paper should be. The bed and pullout couch bed are very uncomfortable, we woke up with our backs hurting every morning. I would recommend taking a memory foam topper for the beds. We were on the 2nd floor with no elevators in this building, so we had to lug our things up and down the stairs when loading and unloading, and everyday we went down to the beach. The doors seam very thin as you can hear people in the hallway late at night talking loudly when they walk by and slamming their doors. I like that there was a full kitchen to prepare meals and the bed sheets were clean. Overall, I would rent a condo here again, but next time I would book it in another building that has elevators and closer to the ocean, maybe building 3/4.

Good for the money
It’s a cute little studio. It was dated that clean for the most part. I wouldn’t say spic and span because we did find a wad of hair in the shower but it was up around the top of the shower ledge like somebody had cleaned it out of the drain and meant to throw it away but forgot. One thing I would like to note is that the property is on the beach side but this unit is not close to the beach. We were in building six and that’s the farthest building in that complex. I would say it’s about a tenth of a mile walk. Also nobody mentioned it in the other reviews but beach chair and umbrella service is not included with this unit.

The grounds are well kept.
The grounds and swimming pool were very well kept. They were painting the building and were very careful of cars and guests. This property is on the end of the public road making it quiet and safe with 24 hour security.

El Matador 9/4-9/8
We rented the unit from Alicia J Hollis Realtor. The agency and staff were very nice, accommodating, and RESPONSIVE. We arrived really early in the morning. I’m glad we eventually decided to stop by the office because they were wonderful and gave us the key! Prior to checking in with the agency, we located the El Matador. It is a gated community and we were met by two extremely friendly and informative security guards. Once they knew we were going to be staying there , they went ahead and gave us our “parking pass” and permitted us to look around. He explained where our unit was located and how to get there. Also, I thought it was nice that he introduced us to his co-worker and explained it was her first day. Really nice people! The property and grounds are beautiful. We liked going to the pool by Building 6. You basically walk out your door, down 15 steps, and open the gate to the pool. They DO HAVE rules for using the pool. I believe the full-time residents make sure they’re followed. The rules are extremely reasonable and ensures that people are respectful of others and the property. I can appreciate that! (basically, keep food and drink in a certain area, don’t swim in your clothes, keep your music low enough that others can enjoy their music, pool closes at 11:00) Our room was nice and I would stay in unit 620 again. However, when we arrived, the TV , ceiling fan, and lights weren’t working. I contacted the agency. They immediately answered and addressed the situation. Their maintenance man contacted me and arrived 45 minutes later. He fixed the problem and explained that we shouldn’t touch a particular light switch because there is an issue with it and it would happen again if we did. There really isn’t closet space and the dresser drawers are a pain to deal with. Maybe we’re idiots but we couldn’t figure out the TV and how to get just regular channels or the news. Take your own paper products, cleaning products, and hand sanitizer. The only thing I didn’t like was having one key to the unit. We got locked out one night. Luckily, Security was able to reach the agency and we drove over and got another key. I would definitely return to the same unit again and work with the Alicia J Hollis agency . Also, I had the opportunity to meet some of the condo residents. They were lovely people.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was very clean but needed a little updating. The location was fantastic and the staff kept the grounds extremely clean. I watched a maintenance guy picking up the smallest pieces of trash every single day which I was very impressed. The beach was beautiful. The only complaint is that the cleaning staff parked in front of the building which left very little spots for guest. Overall a fantastic experience.
