There’s nothing better than cooking a simple meal of fresh, Lowcountry seafood in the kitchen, cozying up with a blanket and a good book, or just listening to the sound of the waves crashing in the distance. My favorite part of the day? Morning walks to watch the sunrise over the water. It’s quiet, peaceful, and something I never take for granted.
Being able to share this little slice of the South Carolina coast with others is one of the things I love most about hosting. Harbor Island still feels like a hidden gem — a place that hasn’t been overrun by tourists, where the natural beauty is untouched and the pace of life slows to something more meaningful. From the upstairs windows, you can spot herons and egrets wading through the marsh or watch the tide roll in and out. You’re only a short walk to the beach and the Harbor Island Beach & Racquet Club, where there’s a pool, gym, tennis and even pickleball. You can fill your days with activity, or not — sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all.
