Zuhause auf dem South Toe River! Alles, was Sie brauchen, um die Aussicht zu genießen und zu entspannen. Unser Haus ist zugänglich, egal bei welchem Wetter. Bis zur Auffahrt blieben die asphaltierten Straßen erhalten. Indoor-Jacuzzi im begehbaren Keller sowie ein Spieltisch und eine Bar, alles in geschmackvollem Blockhaus-Dekor. Genießen Sie einen Film auf dem großen Fernseher auf der bequemen Couch im Keller oder spielen Sie Karten oder Monopole auf dem großen Spieltisch. Im Obergeschoss genießen Sie den Gaskamin und schalten Sie die Musik oder sehen Sie Ihre Lieblings-TV-Show. Lies ein Buch auf dem Oberdeck am Tisch unter dem Schirm, während die Vögel unten an den Feedern fressen. Kolibris sind im Frühling reichlich vorhanden, und Sie können die Forellen im seichten Wasser des South Toe River schwimmen sehen. Genießen Sie ein Feuer am Fluss in der Feuerstelle; Sammle herabgefallene Zweige oder bring dein eigenes Holz mit. Im Sommer kannst du Schläuche mieten und die Kinder stromaufwärts fallen lassen, damit sie direkt vor deinem Haus rauskommen. Feels like home

This was our second stay at this property and it was just as we remembered. The location is so convenient to everything you could want in the mountains and with the steps to the river making it so accessible it’s hard to beat. As soon as you walk in the home you feel as though it is a family home and not just another rental property, and that made our stay so much more relaxing especially with smaller kids. We love the property and hope to be back soon!

Beautiful home with great views

We loved our stay! Loved being right on river. Host was very quick with responses before getting there and during our stay. The hot tub was wonderful especially during this time of year. We will definitely be back!

Cozy mountain cottage

We’ve stayed here several times and will definitely be back. Beautiful location on the river. Very comfortable and nicely decorated house. Great kitchen with everything you need. Very responsive hosts. And the hot tub is a really nice extra. Perfect getaway.

Relaxation with peace, quiet, and views

Large, beautiful, & peaceful home. Decorations fit the region with many whimsical items to see & enjoy. The house is well appointed with many family & couple activities. The river was low for the season but that did not stop our grandsons from running up & down with great joy & curiosity. There are many necessary stores nearby yet far enough to keep the traffic & noise levels to a near zero level. The weather allowed us to open the windows feel/smell the fall breeze, sit on the two porches/decks, & take pleasure in the fire pit for smores every night. The hot tub is comfortable & convenient - love the indoor placement. The design of this property would allow 2 families to have their own floor with only sharing the kitchen & hot tub. The games & game table were used daily as we played with our grandsons. The host(s) are exceptional - they have thought of everything. We have already recommended this location to friends and family - this is a top quality property with exceptional amenities, an amazing location, and great hosts! We will return!!!!!

Such a lovely place!

We had a wonderful visit to this clean, cozy home beside a beautiful river! We especially enjoyed skipping rocks in the river, hiking at Mt. Mitchell, and watching the chipmunks and hummingbirds at the backyard feeders. I definitely recommend that other guests fill the feeders when they stay as well! Thank you for everything!

Paradise

This was our second visit to this beautiful property, and we can't wait to book it again for next summer. The house is perfect for multigenerational families and there is a great basement with a bed/bath, hot tub, and game table downstairs for the night owls and two beds/2baths on the main floor. The river is beautiful. We tied our floats onto large rocks and spent the days fishing and just hanging out. Robin is great to work with, and the home has everything you need for an enjoyable visit. The wi-fi works great, btw. There are some beautiful hikes and several artisan markets nearby. Our family loves to visit this area to get away from the crowds. Great property, great location!

Great Family Vacation

Home on the river

This is a great place to stay. It was clean and peaceful. It is equipped with anything you could possibly need to include walking sticks, fishing poles, and more games than a toy store. We thoroughly enjoyed nearby daytime adventures and relaxing in the evening. We would love to come back and stay a week!

Annual Summer Family Vacation

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We made a change from a summer beach trip to the mountains looking to get away from the usual June beach crowd and vacationers. This was an ideal location. We still had fun in the water, great food locations, and great evenings playing games and catching up. Plus we got to stretch our legs hiking this year. Far away from it all yet so close! The host was wonderful with mid-week questions and we had no problems or concerns the entire week with our stay.

Fishing trip

My family and friends come up here every year to trout fish in the spring, this has been the house we have come to for the past few years. Very comfortable and welcoming place to stay, everything you need is ready to use. Always clean , very comfy beds as well. Plan to continue coming back in the years to come!

Absolute heaven!

This is our second time to stay at this house in this wonderful location. My son and his family live a couple of miles from this house and my grandson wants to be an avid fisherman. The house is so comfortable and well appointed. Although we like to go out I love to cook and my family loves to have me cook for them. The kitchen is well stocked and having a dishwasher is essential. I don't do dishes at home! Why would I want to do them on vacation? Sitting on the deck listening to the sounds of the river while having dinner (or ANY meal!) is so relaxing. Thank you Robin and Mike for sharing your wonderful home with us!

River Oasis

We had a lovely time at this place. The house was inviting and we enjoyed seeing the River view when we woke up every morning. It was a bit cold in the mountain but we didn’t mind since we had access to an indoor jacuzzi tub. We also had fun playing games at the poker table. We made sone good family memories.

Perfect get away

Not much could be done to improve this stay. From the comforts of the bed to the speed of the internet this property rocked. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Great touch is that all the light switches are labeled! Property itself is idealistic on the river’s edge. Oh, to have coffee while watching the river any season of the year!

Zip Lining Weekend

Came for a long weekend to go zip lining. The cabin was very comfortable, clean, and homey! We found everything we needed to cook full meals. The hot tub and fireplace were nice features. Would love to come back during the warmer months and try tubing in the creek out back :)

Zu Gast bei Robin and Mike Fowler (mostly Robin 😊)

Mike and Robin are empty nesters with two grown sons; Mike is retired from the US Army and Robin owns her own business. Oldest son is in the Army following in Dad's footsteps and youngest son is working with youth at the church he grew up in.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Mike went to college at Western Carolina University and his parents bought a home in the general area many years ago. We spent many years looking for just the right home and it HAD to be on the river. Mike really enjoys fly fishing and Robin just likes the serenity of being close to the water. Both of us actually grew up in South Florida so having a home in the mountains has always been a dream for us.

When we get there it isn't unusual for Robin to just settle in, read books and relax. We enjoy going to the square to eat and visit our favorite clothing and gift shops. For lunch, there is the Garden Deli where you can eat inside or out and it's right on the square. There is a new Brewery off the square HomePlace which has pretty good food. In the spring, summer and fall, there is a craft fair featuring all kinds of local ware right on the square. There is a quaint little ONE SCREEN old-time theater that we are hoping gets refurbished and there is even live theater at Parkway Playhouse. You can check for events on Yancey County Chamber of Commerce website. Mt Mitchell Golf Course is 10 minutes up the road and Carolina Hemlocks is a state park/camp site where you can rent tubes and play in the river. Grandfather Mountain is about 45 minutes away and has great view and places to picnic. Crabtree Falls is a campground/state park that allows you to follow the trail down to view a very cool 60 ft waterfall, just remember you have to hike back up. Be sure and take the walking sticks provided at the house! This is a challenging hike. You can do a lot or nothing at all and still have a wonderful time.
