Summary:
Welcome to our tranquil retreat nestled in the heart of Helena's best mountain-side neighborhood. Located just two blocks away from the Little Moab Connector Trail on Mount Ascension, this charming home is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with trail access nearly out your doorstep. With a quick 10-minute walk, you'll find yourself in the vibrant downtown area, where the best breweries await. Views abound from this hilltop house overlooking the quaint cityscape of Historic Helena.

The Space:
Our property was built in 1885 and is immersed in a uniquely historical neighborhood. The thoughtfully curated interior showcases a tasteful fusion of contemporary furnishings and nods to its historic past, ensuring a cozy and inviting atmosphere for all guests.

The basics:

- (1) queen bed in main bedroom
- (1) full bed in second bedroom
- (1) full sleeper sofa (fresh linens stored in sofa storage compartment - guests will need to make up this bed)
- Washer and dryer in main bedroom
- Backyard space that is shared with the long term tenant. There is a fire pit but guests will need to provide their own firewood

Guest Access:
This duplex home has two apartments. The Airbnb is on the ground floor apartment. The second level unit has a long term tenant whom you may see around during your stay. He is kind, quiet and mostly keeps to himself.

The Neighborhood:
We may be biased, but we believe our Airbnb resides in Helena's best neighborhood. Enjoy a quiet area with little traffic (often more bikers/runners than cars!). Most of the residents in this area were built around 1885 and are steeped in history of mining in the area before downtown migrated into last chance gulch. Guests will feel safe, and surrounded by active neighbors that are friendly and appreciate and enjoy nature as much as we do!

Getting Around:
Trail access is a 10 from this location. Whether you want to jump on a trail directly or head to a nearby trailhead, getting there is doable without a car to access all the trails on Mount Ascension and Mount Helena. A quick walk down State St. will take you directly to the library downtown in 5-10 minutes. We recommend buying groceries on your way into the unit, but if you need, there is a bodega on rodney street about 5 blocks from the house.

Other Things to Note:
There is one parking spot marked for guests in the back drive behind the house and plenty of street parking for extra vehicles out front.

Summertime Note: Most Montana homes do not have A/C and our 1885 home is one of those homes. We do have a portable window unit installed in the main bedroom that gets it very cool in that bedroom as well as other parts of the house if doors stay open. Additionally, it tends to get cool at night and there are ceiling fans in every room so we find it comfortable, but if regulated air is something you like, this unit might not be your cup of tea.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING 4+ GUESTS: The house is set up to accommodate (6) people with (1) queen bed and (1) full bed made up and ready to go. There is a pull out sleeper sofa that can accommodate (2) additional people. Fresh linens are provided but guests will need to set up these sleeping spaces.
