CalypsoLightHaus: Port St Joe, WindMark Phase 1 Gated Custom-built & Ocean Views
Being in the gated community, you and your guests will feel safe and have the opportunity to enjoy 3 swimming pools, one of which is steps away from the beach house and overlooks the ocean! We call that the "Quiet" pool because it is only accessible to Phase 1 gated community owners and guests. (The newly redone bathrooms and showers there are also convenient when everyone is trying to get ready at the same time, occupying all 3 full baths and the half bath at the house.) There is also a small dog park in the WindMark development and access to restaurants, bars, shopping and ice cream shops. Plus it is only a short drive either way to the restaurants in Port St. Joe and Cape San Blas to the East or Mexico Beach to the West. We consider WindMark the most convenient location in the area!
We fell in love with this newer (2016) custom-built 3-level beach house with elevator when trying to decide if we wanted to buy our vacation home in the Smoky Mountains or along the ocean. This home combines both the gorgeous views experienced when staying in a chalet amidst pine trees and serene water views with Cape San Blas in the distance. It has balconies with seating off of most of the rooms of the house. Most of the balconies are completely screened-in including screens under the decks to prevent any insects from joining the relaxation you deserve when being a guest at Calypso Light Haus. The top deck which allows for outdoor dining directly from the kitchen is completely screened-in, including the screens under the deck to keep any insects away. The front porch deck is not screened in which allows guests to feel one with nature while taking photos of the sunsets and/or stunning water views without obstruction from the screens. Likewise, one of the 4 balconies in the back also is unscreened for taking pictures of the sunrises, wildlife in the conservation area including cardinals, hawks, & a variety of other wildlife.
There is a lovely patio area on the ground level, adorned with citrus trees, plants, sand, and a fire pit with seats, all of which allow guests to enjoy campfires, and cooler breezes in the evening, even when daytime temperatures climb above 90.
There are 5 sleeping areas and the house is 3 floors with an elevator for adult use only. A golf cart and bikes are included free of charge! The home includes 4 beach chairs and a beach umbrella as well as plenty of additional patio seating and campfire seating.
Well-behaved and groomed pets are sometimes permitted for an extra fee of $250 per week.
