Sandiger flacher Abschnitt im Wasser für die Kleinen, Dock für Ihr Boot. Es gibt einen Yachthafen am See, in dem Sie Boote mieten oder etwas essen können. Kleiner Gemischtwarenladen in der Stadt für Last-Minute-Proviant. Genießen Sie die Ruhe an diesem ruhigen, hübschen See.

Highland Lake ist 7 Meilen lang. Es ist ein perfekter See zum Entspannen und Erholen an diesem ruhigen See. An jedem Tag sehen Sie Kajakfahrer, Kanufahrer und Paddleboarder. Ganz zu schweigen von den Fischern, die jung und alt große und kleine Bässe fangen!

Wenn Sie die Gegend erkunden möchten, erreichen Sie die Städte Hancock und Peterborugh in 20 bis 25 Minuten. Mt. Monadnock ist weniger als eine halbe Stunde entfernt und die beste Blaubeerernte finden Sie im Pitcher Mountain, 5 Autominuten entfernt.

Peace and comfort

A definite gem on Highland Lake. We brought kayaks and paddle boards, and enjoyed the many lake birds we heard and saw. Stars were bright at night - we spotted a couple meteors and the Milky Way. The house is very comfortable - clean and modern - and the views from the windows of the lake were lovely. Highly recommend!

If you want the views of the lake and foliage 👍

My wife and I kayaked from one end of lake to the other, took two 4 hour trips to complete but worth all the work to get the boats (14 footers) to the water. There is a marina close by with boat ramp. But sadly the web site for it is inaccurate. It says the restaurant is open, but hasn’t been open for four years.

Highland Lake house

Clean and very roomy for 4. Close access to lake having private dock on property. Water is very shallow around dock, fine for small boat. Very weedy lake, not really ideal for swimming near property. For fishing this place was great, which we did a lot of. Landed a couple of big bass right off the dock..Nice to have laundry and good kitchen setup.

Great Lakeside Cottage

Nice lakeside cottage. Clean and comfortable staycation. Beautiful lakeside views. Would schedule less excursions for a return stay next time to enjoy the property more.

Bright and welcoming

My family and I had a wonderful weekend together. The cottage was so bright and welcoming with everything we needed. I enjoyed some quiet tume sketching and reading while my husband and kids enjoyed time fishing. We also went on a geocash, wich there are several in the area. That was a great day. Amazing getaway on the lake

Really lovely property right on the water. The views from the sitting room and bedrooms of the lake and foliage are fantastic, and the deck and lawn are spacious and well-appointed with a nice grill, fire pit, and seating. Check in process was seamless and communication with our hosts was great. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet getaway with friends or family!

Perfect vacation spot!

This is the second year we had the opportunity to rent this property and once again it was amazing! The location is ideal and the home was once again very clean and accommodating with all the conveniences of home. The views of both the lake and mountains were stunning and we enjoyed taking in gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. We also enjoyed kayaking, swimming, fishing, watching fireworks over the water and just relaxing or playing yard games on the lawn. The owner was such a pleasure to work with; we look forward to our next stay here! Thank you Jaimee!

Great getaway property!

This property truly lived up to its description - it is a lovely lake-front home with everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. The home itself is clean and well kept. The private dock is sturdy and great for fishing and launching the provided canoe. We loved fishing from the dock and out in the lake. We were super impressed with several local (or nearby) establishments: • Fiddleheads for breakfast/lunch; great sandwiches and their sparkling lemonades were amazing • The Mill County General Store had great, quick breakfast options and delicious pizza • Pearl in Peterborough is definitely worth the drive; the restaurant has a focus on local and fresh ingredients, and the quality really came through in the final dishes • Twelve Pins is great for gourmet, ready-made meals and wine The hosts were communicative and helpful with providing local attractions/things to do. We had a great time, and really loved the location of this home - on the water and not too far from nearby towns/attractions. If you're looking for a quiet, serene getaway with good food options nearby, look no further.

Lakefront beauty

Tim and Jaimee were extremely responsive and helpful. The house was clean and spacious for our adult children and us. The use of the rowboat and leftover firewood all made it a lovely stay. In the second bedroom one of the bed frames seemed to sag. We will choose a weekend before Oct 21 to come back next time- it was a bit cold and the lake had been lowered. Thank you for your hospitality.

Clean house but difficult navigating the entrance

The house was very clean and met our requirements. However, the steep drive into the property and then the steep hill into the house was fairly treacherous for two people in their late 70’s. Would recommend this get mentioned in the write up. Home owner was very attentive which I very much appreciated. The lake had loads of weeds in it which made fishing impossible

Lovely house

The house was lovely. Even without air conditioning on 95+ degree days, the breeze off the lake was enough to keep the house tolerable with windows open and fans going. Sitting outside in the breeze was wonderful! The owners were prompt in communicating and suggested a great short hike nearby. The three caveats are: there is a short steep decline to get from the parking area to the house, it’s a 25 minute drive to grocery stores of any size and restaurants (the nearby marina restaurant suggested by the owner was closed), and the twin bed mattresses were not very comfortable for adults.

Relaxing stay

The accommodations where clean and modern. All the appliances worked fine. The grounds were lush and well maintained. While not plentiful, the provided amenities were welcome. WiFi was a must have, as cell phone service in the area was non existent. The dock seems new and made easy access of the waterfront. The terrain from/to the parking lot and house is a bit treacherous. Especially after a rain storm. Not recommended for people who have difficulty walking. The house is big and spacious. Seems it could easily sleep more than 4 people. The lake itself is nice, but seems to have a lot of boating activity.

Just wonderful!

The property looks just like the listing; it’s so beautiful. Simple decor, very roomy, comfy beds/couch, a kitchen to die for & everything one would need to prepare meals was there. The views from every window were spectacular & it was so quiet! My husband, myself, & our little dog traveled to NH to celebrate my husband’s birthday & I swear we didn’t want to leave the house. The owners have a canoe for use w/life jackets/paddles & a fire pit. It was rainy during our 4 day stay so we only lit the fire pit that last couple of days which was fine! You need to bring your own firewood but the owners were kind enough to have it delivered! They were also very responsive, accommodating & kind people. I could go on forever about our wonderful experience but you should trust me & rent it!

Excellent house, peaceful location

We had a great week in Stoddard. The house is very nice, clean and well equipped. The driveway is steep and uneven - not so unusual for a lakehouse and ok in a truck, but would be a bit daunting in a car. The master bedroom has the most amazing view on three sides. The local area is very rural, but there are a lot of good day trips. Peterborough, Jaffrey, Dublin and Harrisville was one good day. Great sandwiches at the Dublin Market, and restaurants in Peterborough. Another day we went to Vermont - Queechee, Woodstock, Weston and Chester. Also - Grafton, Bellows Falls, Rockingham VT and Walpole, NH. Don’t miss Leslie’s Tavern in Rockingham! We also had a great dinner at Oak and Grain in New London, NH. Add in relaxing by the lake, coffee with a view, sunsets on the lake, and being able to bring our dogs, it was a perfect week. Definitely recommended!

Spring Getaway

We were looking for a Spring vacation getaway on a lake with views, water access and a canoe. These requirements were all met at this lake front home. The canoe was in great condition and while paddles were available, we brought our own. The dock was solid and well maintained. We caught fish both in the lake and off the dock. The road access concerns from previous reviews have been remedied. We like to cook while away and thoroughly enjoyed cooking on the Wolf gas stove. The cookware was sufficient for our needs. Plan to bring your own spices and small pantry items. We left some items for the next guest. A teapot would have been useful, and the owner is addressing this. He is also addressing the small repair needed for the gas grill. The beds were comfortable, and bathrooms were clean. As it was early May we did need to use the heat in the evening and the heating units quickly warmed us up. The communication with the owner, Tim, was excellent and he checked in on us often. We plan on returning to this lake front home with our puppy in tow.

My husband has been coming to Highland Lake for over 45 years. He loves the peace and serenity of the lake. Not to mention the fishing and the sounds of the loons at night. He can provide ideas for hiking trails, mountain bike rides, canoe trips, good fishing spots on the lake, jumps off rocks into the lake, and so on. We have a number of excellent restaurants to suggest, starting with the Hancock Inn in Hancock, or Pearl in Peterborough. Shop at 12Pine for high end food and groceries, and visit Pitcher Mountain in late July and August for blueberries. Ask any question and we'll be glad to help make your stay wonderful.
