Gorgeous lakefront cabin on popular Serpent Lake!

Tim & Kelly met in May of 1993 at the Serpent in Crosby Memorial Park when we came to the area to do check out dives for scuba diving certifications. When we began dating in 1996 we spent a lot of time camping and scuba diving all over the state. After we got married we bought our first cabin on Little Thunder Lake north of Outing. We drove past Serpent Lake for many years going to the various cabins we owned. We sold our cabin in 2015 and missed being in the area. When COVID hit and Tim was thinking about retiring we started to look for our retirement home.

We found our retirement home and purchased it in October of 2020. Since then it has become a labor of love. We have a large family, 6 kids, 8 grandkids and counting. We needed to build a cabin to add space for everyone, and to have a place to live when we eventually will tear down and rebuild our main home. When friends and family are not using the cabin, we are renting it out to share the love of our lake and the Cuyuna area with others. Being able to see the serpent from our home everyday, reminds us of the amazing journey we have had and the love that we share.

Tim retired in May of 2023 and began building the cabin. He had some help at times from our son’s and friends but he did the majority of the work himself. Kelly helped with designs, decorating and the finances of the endeavor. We hope our guests enjoy the uniqueness that we tried to infuse into our cabin to make it feel homey. From the Shou sugi ban wood finishes inside, salt water hydrotherapy hot tub and high quality linens, we strive to make our cabin a retreat for our guests that makes them want to keep coming back.
