Hi-Speed wifi! So you can still work, learn or play while enjoying the sound and view of the ocean from the second floor balcony. Our condo, Casa Que Pasa at the Island Retreat Condominiums, was built with all your friends' and families' (up to 8 adults + pack n play for 1 or 2 littles) needs in mind.

Always non-smoking and pet-free, the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths are arranged up to accommodate a couple or families, or 3 sets of friends and/or in-laws comfortably.

The feel of the interior is little Mexico, a lot of Austin and a touch of the Carribbean...CQP is both contemporary and timeless. We hope you enjoy our home away from home.

* Walking distance to the Beach Lodge, oldest restaurant & bar on the beach (directly in the dunes directly in front of Island Retreat) cheeseburgers and tallboys on the walkable to Kody's on 11th with some of the best seafood and putt-putt on the island

Quick family trip

Great location. It was the perfect place for our family entire crew 5 to 82. Very short walk to the beach. My son enjoyed the tennis courts! And all of us the pool. There was a live band on Saturday night but it was a great time too! Jason was quick about any questions we had! And had all the answers! Saving this spot for the future for sure!

Perfect Getaway!

This was booked for our anniversary trip and was perfect! The weather didn’t cooperate during our stay and we spent a lot of time in rental, it was great. Everything we needed in the kitchen, all rooms were comfortable, and great communication with owner. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you for sharing your place!

Great location

No need to rent a golf cart , the beach is very close. The owner addressed any issues immediately. We hope to come back and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The space was clean, the AC works great and beach access is easy and private.

We enjoyed our stay with 3 bd rms and nice kitchen. Fantastic AC and views of the water. The kitchen needs more utensils, their is no cable and the couch is uncomfortable but that’s the only negatives in the entire place The outdoor grills are everywhere and water with hoses are available to clean off all your stufffrom the beach.

Great location

Check in was nice and easy. The complex is well maintained and security is always on hand. The pool was large clean and warm. The beach was a short paved walk from the pool. Our room was larger than it looked from the outside. The kitchen was a bit small but served it purpose. Bedrooms we large the Air conditioner was nice and cold. We had a nice view of the beach from our balcony. The were a few things. Master bedroom faucet handle was broken. We ran short on toilet paper. (There were 9 of us) and lastly the sliding glass right door was broken with a sign on it not to use. Unfortunately this made it difficult to secure the apartment. Fortunately it was on the second floor and as mentioned earlier they had security. Over all a nice place and we would stay again.

Great Property at a great Price

We rented this place for our family and my wife's family to vacation and were very happy and everyone was very impressed. The decor was great, each room has a TV and DVD or Blu-ray player. The kids loved the boogie boards and thought the couch was he coolest thing ever. We would stay again for sure. Brian was very accommodating and friendly. Thanks for everything

The condo was clean and the property owner was very accommodating the issue we had is that is states this is beachfront property and it really isn't. It still is a ways to the beach. Other then that the property was very nice and well taken care of. The kitchen was a little small and needed some deep cleaning and updated kitchen ware.

Great apartment for family beach vacation

Overall a very good apartment and location for a family vacation. Only one draw back, which is entirely insufficient wifi connection. There is no wifi specific for the unit and the general wifi for the apartment complex is accessible no more than 20-30 % of the time with very weak reception. We managed with LTE (which also has weak reception) and hotspots which carried us through most of the week.

Location, location, location

The location was great with easy access to the beach. The condominium itself was older but the unit had been updated. The kitchen was very small, but I expected that after reading previous reviews. The living area was decent size with nice comfortable furniture. The furniture in the bedrooms weren’t good at all. The master bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on, plus the sheets didn’t fit the bed properly and kept slipping off at night. Communication with the owner was easy and he responded quickly. He’s very nice.

A few minor details that need improving

1. The cleaning people were still cleaning when we checked in at 4:00 p.m. 2. There was confusion as to where we were to get our parking permits and property bracelets, but we finally were given the permits and bracelets. 3. All of the smoke alarms were disconnected and taken down. We found them in the utility closet in the condo and let the front office know. They said they would have someone put them back up but that was not done while we were there. 4. The towel rack in the second bathroom was broken and gone. 5. The bed in the middle room was very uncomfortable to sleep on and there is a what looks to be a bullet hole in the window. 6. The televisions in the second and third bedroom were not connected to cable/internet, so they did not work. 7. The most irritating thing is there was a family with a 2 or 3 year old that ran back and forth across the entire condo above us until late in the evening and early in the morning, as well as dropped what sounded like bouncing balls on the floor. 8. Also, there were guests who were drinking and eating in the pool, which according to the pool rules were forbidden. Nothing was ever said to these guests. 9. The best part of the stay is the location of the condos to the beach, as well as the cleanliness of the pool.

Recent Family Stay

First impression driving up...its close to the beach, yay! Within a 5 minute walk through the community courtyard to the bridge. Although a convenient location, there were a few things that were a let down. (1) We were on the 2nd floor. Which normally is ok. However, we chose a place that had an elevator because we have a special needs child. We were not told the elevator did not work. (2) The condo did not offer much in the area of @ home comforts and seems to cater more to a fraternity rave than a family with children staying for 5 nights. (3) The bedding/beds were very uncomfortable and itchy and there were no extra pillows or blankets offered. (4) There were no mixing bowls or kitchen tools you'd expect to find; no mixing/serving spoons, spatula, etc. We cooked (brought crockpots) each night because we were gone during the days. So glad we brought the crockpots because the oven (owner said it was only 2 weeks old) smelt of burning cleaning products when we would turn it on. Its more of a kitchenette. There is little room for storing food/supplies from home. (5) The wifi....HORRIBLE. This matters to me more than most because I work from home which gives me the luxury to travel. However, the wifi in the condo was a constant headache of dropping in/out, buffering/time outs. I had to go purchase a hotspot during our stay in order to meet deadlines. (6) One of the dvd players did not work and we were unable to retrieve one of our children's dvds from the player. (7) You can hear the people above us....closing of doors and walking thru the rooms. Kept us up a few nights. (8) This unit is under construction. There was a pendant light that would constantly flicker and half way out of the ceiling. The large deposit coupled with all the little issues this place has really makes us leery of the requirement/return of our deposit. My family and I go to Port A each summer for 5-10 days. We would no return to this location in the future.

Walk to the beach!

This property was very convenient, because we could walk to the beach. So, we didn’t have to “shower off” with a water jug before getting back in the car. Was also easy to keep sand out of the unit, as there is an outdoor shower on the walkway back from the beach. Our kids loved watching the sunrise from the wooden path over the dunes. Very clean, and good communication from manager.

Casa Que Pasa is a contemporary take on the traditional beach condo... Natural elements of acacia, walnut, wicker, leather, mangowood, metal and quartz complement the minimal design intended to provide ample space to relax and unwind.

Natural elements: Most of the contents of the condo are solid wood, leather or metal. We did this to keep the pieces inside the home as close to those outside the home. We have also designed wall and furniture edges to be rounded/curved wherever possible for safety or our big and little guests. Interior walls are insulated against elements and sound.

Wired for comfort and pleasure: Each bedroom has a flat screen TV with DVD and the living room's 50" LED TV and Blu-Ray has streaming Netflix, Pandora, Hulu for viewing and listening pleasure.
