Disappointed First Time Renter
We booked this beautiful property for the amenities, however upon arrival we found that the hot tub was obviously not in working condition, empty with very little water and dirt settled on the bottom. By our second day we noticed that the pool continued to get colder to the point that we were unable to get in. After checking the heater we noticed it was not working. Suzanne explained that she meant to remove the hot tub from the site and she was unable to get anyone to fix the heater for the rest of the seven days of our stay. Although Suzanne provided us a refund it was only a fraction of the thousands extra we paid for the leisure of having a private pool and a hot tub during COVID. We paid the cleaning fee, however there were tons of cobwebs mainly outside on the deck. We had to clean the grill because of food residue as well as around it due to grease and cobwebs in order to use it. We also found ourselves cleaning up dog poop that did not belong to our dog. In addition, quite a bit garbage was left behind.
There were other minor issues that do not measure up to the disappointment of the pool and hot tub such as the front door lock sticking so we were not able to utilize that entrance. There is also no foosball table in the basement. In addition, if you request an extra bed in the office as we did it will just be a mattress on the floor and the first floor queen bed sits sideways (awkwardly) to the headboard. As a first time VRBO renter who usually books 4*/5* hotels I only expected what was listed. Our family was highly disappointed with the experience and learned that we must ask detailed questions in the future should we ever rent again.
