If you are looking for a great location overlooking the ocean, this is the place for you. It is close enough to "town" to walk to the pier, shops and restaurants.
If you are looking for updated amenities, this is currently not the place for you! While it was clean (for the most part), it lacked quality furnishings. The refrigerator leaked causing a mess on the floor daily, the furniture was old and worn out (owners tried to put "throws" over worn down couches and chairs but they did not stay on, as soon as you sat on them, the covers came off). There was no coffee maker (thank god I brought mine with me!) and also no air conditioning, it was so humid while we were there and we could have enjoyed a bit of A/C! There were no rugs or throw towels in the bathrooms, Bath Towels were low quality, (again, thankful I brought my own) and the sheets while clean, the under-bedding had stains (looked like blood stains on the master bedroom). Also for a 4 day/3 night stay there was only ONE additional roll of Toilet Paper for the unit.
Check-in was ok - received a call from Manager in the AM stating we could check in early if we needed to, but when we arrived, the key was missing from the lock box. That was a bit frustrating, but after about 20 minutes we finally got a key to enter the building.
We really enjoyed OOB as it was close to many other towns (Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Kennebunkport, Kittery, etc) with a lot of things to do, but for the rates per night this place typically goes for I would not pay unless they update it. The view was breathtaking to say the least!
