The neighborhood/area:
Our home is in the prime location for the best in the 30A area!
The beach: The house is exactly 0.5 mile from the public beach access at Gulfview Heights Beach Access and 0.9 miles from the public beach access at Ed Walline Public Beach Access.
Since the public beach parking lots are small and tend to fill up quickly, the best way to get to the beach with gear is to either ride one of the four bikes on the property and park it there, or have a member of your party drive to the access, unload your gear with the other members of your party, drive back to the house, and either walk or ride a bike back. This way you avoid having to find a parking spot. There are numerous golf cart rental companies in the area, however, the golf cart parking also fills up quickly, so again, riding a bike or walking are your best options.
Nature: The home is 0.2 miles away from the Long Leaf Pine Trail trailhead and parking area in Point Washington State Park, which includes more than 27 miles of distinct trails throughout, allowing you to explore and experience the differentiated types of vegetation and topography of the area. There is also biking on the Timpoochee Bike Trail in the park.
Dining and shopping: Gulf Place is 1.0 miles way and has quaint and local shops, coffee, ice cream, and fabulous restaurants, including Shunk Gulley (food, live music, a top notch bar, and a VIEW!) Shelby's Beach Bar and Grill, The Perfect Pig, and Pizza by the Sea. Other nearby walkable locals spots include Goatfeathers, Papa Surf, Lola's on 30A, Local Catch, and Cafe Tango, to name a few.
30A: Cruise on foot, bike, golf cart, or car along this infamous stretch of highway that runs for 20 miles in either direction from the house, with wide paths along the road the entire way.
