Great winter escape!

For the last 20 years my family have been spending the week between Christmas and New Years out of town in a resort type location. This year, we initially thought about a cruse but couldn't find the type of cruse we wanted so we decided to travel to Palm Island. We choose this location because my daughter and her family had visited the island a couple different times! Our booking of the vacation was done in mid summer a little prior to the 2 hurricanes that did havoc to the area. In spite of the fact that much of the island was still dealing with restoration, we found the resort to be a hidden treasure for relaxation, and fun! Family members did fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, visiting an aquarium in Sarasota, taking a boat ride to see the dolphins, golfing, went to a College Bowl Game in Tampa, beach combing, and watching sunsets!!! We had a busy group of people ranging in ages 80 to 7 months old and the villas worked well for all of our group. The staff was very accommodating to any request we had. The only disappointments we had were the switching around of some of our villas/houses due to stuff that hadn't been completed yet, and the lack of any pools or tennis courts and some of the other possible amenities. So sorry this beautiful island had so much destruction due to the storms. I hope some day we can do a return visit to see how really nice the resort is!
