La Gaviota ist ein Strand-Apartment, das 2 Schlafzimmern und 2 Bädern hat - das Hauptschlafzimmer hat ein Doppelbett und Bad, und das andere Schlafzimmer hat zwei Einzelbetten. Es gibt eine voll ausgestattete Küche mit Kaffeemaschine, Mixer, Mikrowelle und Toaster. Das Wohnzimmer verfügt über ein Queen-Hide-A-Bett und Kamin (selbst mitbringen Holz oder Brennholz). Zu weiteren Annehmlichkeiten gehören Zentralheizung und Kühlung, VCR, Wi-Fi, Holzkohlegrill und eine Terrasse auf der Rückseite, sowie ein Strand Terrasse. Great location and pet friendly!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at La Gaviota several times. The beachfront location is good, and we like that it is pet friendly. The replaced stove and kitchen dishes were good improvements, but it really needs more work. The same old leaky noisy frig was still there. The master bed was so uncomfortable, we cut our trip a day short. More updates are needed to be worth the price. Being pet friendly and having a garage are nice benefits, so we would probably stay there again, especially if they continue to update and upgrade the furnishings. It would be nice to have better instructions for the lockbox and tv, but Oceano did send someone to help right away.

Almost perfect stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location. Could have been better if it wasn’t for the crazy woman that own her home next door. She kept knocking on the walls waking us up. Shouting be quiet , but we were quiet because we were asleep. Letting her dogs out on a long chain and sometimes no chains. That they would almost come into our patio barking like they wanted to bite us. We just waited to walk to the beach until she put the dogs away. Also the condo needs some noticeably repairs. If we’re to stay there before recommending this property to anyone. The only thing that great was the service by the rental company. Especially Edwin Olivad

Good for families

Reviewer Comments: La Gaviota was a good size for our family of 5 - having a second bathroom really helped when we were getting ready to go to the beach, and then cleaning up afterward. This is a good location with easy access to the beach and tidepools. The beach was practically empty on Thursday and Friday, and not at all crowded on Saturday. The property feels safe and secure and there are plenty of towels - important for a beach house!One problem: the range in the kitchen is old and all the numbers/words have worn off of the control knobs. The burners work, but you have to guess how high the heat is. The oven works, but it took me a while to test all the settings on the blank dial and figure out how to turn it on to the Bake setting. And of course the temperature was too high and burned my food a bit, because I had to guess where to set another blank dial. I don't expect things to be super modern, but it is time for new appliances in that kitchen.

Three day stay at Oceano's La Gaviota, Rocky Point

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time during our three day weekend stay in Rocky Point at Oceano's La Gaviota. The staff at Oceano are so helpful and friendly to work with. We have stayed at La Gaviota during our stays in Rocky Point for several years. Oceano keeps the unit in excellent condition. We could not have asked for anything more for our stay. A nice condo directly on the beach and within walking distance to Manny's and a 5 minute drive to the Malecon.

Great air conditioning, right on the beach. Walked out to ocean. Comfortable beds. Netflix. Great neighbors. Walking distance to Manny’s and The Pit. Safe area. Large garage. No iron or ironing board. No hair dryer. No broom but there were 2 dust pans. Needs to have updated stove. Couldn’t tell what temp oven was on!! Very easy check in and check out.

Cute casita!

We loved this place! I read some reviews about it being older or tired looking and sure, it's not super modern (which I hate) but it's a liitle beach house on the ocean. Sometimes, I do not know what people expect. We thought it was perfect and charming. The people in Oceano's office were very nice and helpful. We had great neighbors while we were there who fished a lot with my partner. We caught fish every day and grilled them up on the patio. The tide pools provided endless entertainment for me, a 42 year old woman. We saw so many little creatures! This beach is not super soft sugar sand like Florida, but more granular with tons of really cute shells. The rocks can make swimming difficult at a lower tide but no problems at high tide! Right down the beach you can hit Manny's and sit in their pool with cocktails if it is not a good swimming day. We did not have any water issues while we were there but we are also pretty conservative in our water usage naturally. Anyway, we will be back!

Loved it!

Great location right on the beach between Mannys and the Pitaya bars and restaurants. You can walk the beach to either. Loved the security of the garage entrance to the courtyard and into the condo. Close the garage door and car is safe as well as the condo. My little 10 lb dog was in heaven there.

Great location

June 2023 - Some areas for improvement included: Mattresses were not comfortable, no coffee pods, no chaise lounges, and other stuff fom pictures were missing, cooking pans and other kitchen stuff were not great, Kitchen drawers fall out... Positives included: Wood furniture is nice Ceiling fans are great AC works good Great view and location on beach Halfway between Manny's and Pitaya beach bars. You can walk out of condo to patio, then you're on sand and the beach!!

If fixed great place

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Having used Oceano many times in the past and never disappointed, this is a first. Understandable that the property is old. It needs many repairs.The stove only works half the time unable to read the knobs.The refrigerator leaks water inside and outside.The showers did have hot water but no flow. Very disappointing after a nice day on the beach.Both toilets have faulty plungers and refill every 60 seconds causing the pump house pump to come on,we turned the water off at the toilets each nite so not to hear the pump running All Night Long! such a waste of water and electricity.Location is great,just do not interact with the next door neighbor to the south of the unit ,many dogs and she can be fiesty at times.Noted no toaster or can opener,called Oceano and new ones provided in one hour!The sliding patio door has no screen,no flies this trip but must have one later in the season.The door is very difficult to open.Overall would be a great unit if general maintenance was done.I know Oceano does not own the unit but I wish they would contact the owner and fix things.The last day the pump house started leaking a good amt of water and staff was notified.

Condo by Mannys beach club

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great place to stay. Close to Manny beach club which has a pool you can use. Ocean was more dirty on this side of the island. Which was a bummer for swimming in. The only concern we had was the main shower not draining so I used the plunger under the sink to fix the problem.

Very short on amenities

As a host myself house needs fixing up maintenance wise. Curtain rod in master bath needs replaced. Mattress is warm out and needs to be changed out. Stove needs replaced as the burners don't get hot properly. No lids for pans. Grill outside was very rusted and not safe to cook directly on. Otherwise it's a great location.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Love this area of town, very nice to be right on the beach. The condo had questionable items. Stove has slight V shape, not flat, had my frying pan 1/2 off the burner for it to be level. Drawers will fall out if you open all the way, be careful. Odd that arcadia door it latched to a screw, and the "bar" in the door for added security is a piece of PVC Pipe.Certain queen bed was really a double. Beds not very comfortable. Internet and wi-fi, worked from about 630 am to 9 am, some in the afternoon, none at night, so don't plan on watching movies on line. We brought VCR tapes to watch movies, only there was no VCR in the place, as advertised in their ad. No paper towels provided, notified office, they didn't seem to get my phone was not working in Mex, as tried to call me several times, then would email to say someone was coming w/ them and never did. Glad I brought my own. It's not a terrible place, but certainly can use some TLC. A screen door on the arcadia door would be really nice.
