Welcome to our private pet-friendly studio apartment with yard in the heart of downtown Arcata! This adorable apartment is accessed through a private entrance and is located behind the Co-Op, two blocks from the Arcata Plaza, two blocks from the Creamery District, three blocks from Café Mokka (think hot tubs) and Crabs baseball, and close to the Arcata Community Pool. Steps away from shops, wineries, restaurants, pubs and attractions and a close walk to campus and the world-famous Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary. This unit has its own private entrance and yard and shares one double-insulated wall with our main 4-bedroom house. This is the perfect home for exploring redwood forests, beaches, and local culture.
The space:
Sleep comfortably in a Cal-king bed! The apartment includes a designated workspace, a kitchenette, and a full bathroom with walk-in shower. The kitchenette is stocked with essentials that include a toaster oven (fresh bagels are a block away), microwave, fridge/freezer combo, an electric tea kettle with assorted teas, and coffee-maker complete with locally roasted coffee. Arcata is very walkable and almost every restaurant, bar, and shop is located within a few-block radius from our home. Enjoy being in the heart of town, while also being tucked away in your own private oasis.
Guest access:
The guest entrance is exclusive to the unit as is the yard which is surrounded by topiary hedges shaped into a dragon and two whales and includes a picnic table for your enjoyment. Please be aware your dog may need to be leashed to avoid its possible escape from under the hedges. Parking is on-street in a safe neighborhood. This apartment is in the heart of this vibrant downtown community.
Other things to note:
This is a pet-friendly unit with a $35 pet fee per stay (only one dog per reservation unless otherwise agreed upon). Our downtown location means local events are often happening close by. Eateries and local pubs make it perfect for someone wanting to enjoy the lively downtown life of Arcata. The pub across the street boasts world-class beers and a great vinyl record and comic book collection.
The unit *used* to have a barn door separating it from the main house and a shared backyard … hence the prior reviews mentioning rabbits and that the barn door was not much of a noise barrier. Both have changed as the apartment is now completely private with an insulated wall and the bunnies have moved to a new home.
