Grandfather Lodge is easily accessible (between Foscoe and Seven Devils, just off Highway 105), including access to Blowing Rock, Boone, Sugar Mountain and Appalachian Ski Mountain.
Welcome to Grandfather Lodge! Our 3,200 sq. ft. log style home sits on 2.2 acres with a large yard and a direct profile view of Grandfather Mountain from the great room, upstairs loft, deck and hot tub. The main level features an impressive great room with soaring ceilings and large windows. A large wood burning fireplace is surrounded by banks of glass to let in light and take in the views. There is also a large bedroom and full bath on this level, as well as a fully equipped kitchen and breakfast bar. The full bathroom was just renovated with a custom-tiled shower.
Upstairs you'll find a comfortable loft for relaxing or reading as well as another large bedroom (with ensuite) and a bunkroom (bunk beds, plus another twin and an inflatable mattress, if needed). The ensuite bath was recently renovated with a new custom-tiled shower/tub. Head to the lower level and you'll be pleasantly surprised to find a cozy family room with pool table, foosball table and a freestanding propane fireplace as well as a second fully equipped kitchen with dining table (that can also be used for games or puzzles). The lower level also includes another bedroom. There is a full bath on this level as well, and a separate exterior entrance with a seating area outside.
Step outside the main floor to the wrap-around deck through any of the four sliding glass doors to take in the view and enjoy the hot tub or propane grill. Just steps from the deck is the stone firepit area, ready for you to enjoy!
Smart TVs are located in all bedrooms of Grandfather Lodge, as well as in both the main floor great room and lower level living area. WiFi is available throughout the home, via a mesh system.
Located just across the road from Grandfather Vineyard & Winery, you can't find a better location for your High Country getaway. Only 10 minutes to Sugar Mountain and within 25 minutes of both Beach and Appalachian. In addition, the large gently sloping yard is perfect for sledding or even a “bunny hill” for youngsters. Several sleds / toboggans / saucers are available in the garage, as is a badminton / volleyball net.
The large circular driveway offers plenty of parking at the end of a private road located just off Route 105. No treacherous switchbacks to reach this beautiful, spacious home.
We welcome well-behaved, house-trained dogs (up to 2, for a fee of $30/night for each pet) and they will love exploring the property (at least ours does). Please ensure dogs are listed on your reservation to avoid a financial penalty. If more than one dog, please inform the owner so the additional fee can be added.
