Both the building and the area are exceptionally safe and quiet, surrounded by the parks yet super close to all Warsaw has to offer. Powisle/Solec have become recently the most desirable areas to live and now I understand why so.
The famous Lazienki Park is a 5 min walk from here and if you keep walking through the park you will reach the Royal Route and Belvedere Palace within 15 – 20 min. You can also walk to the Old Town via Royal Route or along Vistula river banks which would take you approximately 40 min from the flat but it’s a lovely walk and you pass a couple of museums on the way (Copernicus Museum, Chopin Museum, Museum of Earth and the National one).
The building of the Polish Parliament and some embassies (US, UK, Canadian, German, and French) are 10 min away. And the famous Nowy Swiat Str as well as the trendy “hang out” places at Trzech Krzyzy Square and Zbawiciela Square can be reached within less than 20 min by foot. And if you want to choose a show rather than a drink (or a show followed by a drink :) I recommend checking out one of the musicals at the nearby Buffo Theater.
There are quite a few good restaurants, bars and breakfast places around my flat and along Rozbrat Str. And if you visit in summer you must try Polish beer and a sausage in one of the beer gardens set up in the surrounding parks.
You can walk pretty much everywhere but the flat is 2 min from the main bus routes and 15 - 20 min walk from the metro station.
There is a direct bus from Warsaw airport as well.
