New to the rental market, this property is a very well-cared-for, charming, family cottage in mature woods, and exudes the feel of living in a tree house ... with amenities! All of the rooms (except the bathroom) have windows looking out over the lush forest. From the dining, kitchen, and living room you can also sneak a peak of Lake Michigan. The deck is surrounded by trees, with a view of the big lake; there is no better place to read a book or work remotely from the deck dining table. There is a full kitchen, washer & dryer, smart TV for streaming, and high-speed fiber optic internet.
There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. A sofa in the living room can sleep one more person. The maximum number of guests is five. The updated bathroom has a shower, no tub.
Minimum stay: 7 nights. Saturday - Saturday.
Located in the prestigious Little Point Sable Association, you have free access to the association amenities: Two tennis courts, two pickleball courts, a playground, and an 18-hole crolf course (a crude form of golf which is fun for the whole family); all are less than a mile from the cottage. There is NO BEACH associated with this cottage or for association use; all the beach is privately owned. There are a couple of access points for association owners and renters strictly for getting to the water line to walk or run the beach. The nearest access point is about a mile from the cottage and there is no parking. The closest public Lake Michigan beaches are about a 15-minute drive; Stony Creek to the south, and near the Little Point Sable Lighthouse and Silver Creek to the north. Stony Lake also has a public dock and swimming area. Kids love fishing from that dock; no license required.
The Memorial Nature Preserve is a short walk away within the association and offers wonderful hiking paths in nature where we've seen all kinds of critters.
Oceana County is a summer playground with lots of lakes, golf courses, quaint lakeshore towns, and family activities. We are a 10-minute drive from the Silver Lake sand dunes where you can walk or drive the dunes, and enjoy Silver Lake on your own boat or rent one. Tubing, water-skiing, paddle boarding and swimming are all popular. Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo is 15 minutes away and a great place to spend the day with kids. There are several golf courses within 15 minutes. Tubing down Stony Creek to Lake Michigan is a fun, relaxing 1.5 hours. The immediate area is not known for high-end shopping or fine dining.
For those of you Silver Lake sand dune fans, this is a great place to stay nearby ... enjoy what Silver Lake has to offer, but get away from the noise and crowds when you've had enough. This cottage is just 10 minutes away.
My cottage is nearby and I'm available 24/7 if you have any questions or concerns. Please feel free to send me a message here if you have any questions about this property. Thank you! ~Laura
