Lake Superior Paradise - Einsiedlerbucht

Das Hermit's Cove liegt auf der Halbinsel Keweenaw in der Nähe von Calumet und ist eine wunderschöne Sandbucht im Südosten der Halbinsel. Etwa 15 Meilen vom Lake Linden und Calumet. Das nächste Dorf (zwei Meilen) ist Gay.

Rustic Cabin ist vollständig isoliert und von April bis November verfügbar. Dezember - März Vermietung nicht möglich.

Die Kabine ist 26 Fuß auf 30 Fuß niedriger Ebene mit einer oberen Ebene der Schlafquartiere auf der einen Hälfte und Spieltisch und Sofas auf der anderen Hälfte. Das Hauptschlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss ist vom Rest der Hütte getrennt. Inneninstallationen während der Frühlings-, Sommer- und Herbstsaison einschließlich Dusche.

Holzofen 'Finnleo' im Freien ist für 12 Monate des Jahres verfügbar. Schöne Aussicht auf den See und die Huron Mountains.

Der Holzboden im Erdgeschoss mit Glastür kann das gesamte Haus beheizen, aber auch zwei ölgefüllte Heizkörper sind an kalten Wintertagen vorhanden.

Der weiße Sandstrand erstreckt sich über die gesamte Bucht.

Die Hütte verfügt über ein französisches Bett, ein Doppelbett, drei Einzelbetten, ein Doppel-Etagenbett und drei Sofas (eines davon ein Schlafsofa). Krippe und Laufstall auch enthalten. Die Küche verfügt über Kühlschrank, Elektroherd und Backofen, sowie gut ausgestattete Vorräte. Die Wände sind mit skandinavischer nordischer Weißfichte für gemütliche Northwoods und skandinavischen Looks ausgestattet. Long Weekend at Hermit Cove

First time staying here - booked for an entire week next year. Very clean and a beautiful setting. No internet and no TV and we didn't miss either of those "conveniences".

Lake Superior stay

We loved being so close to the lake. We loved using the fire pit (although there was no newspaper to use to start the fire). The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of pans, dishes, etc. The only problem we had was being unable to lock the doors. We tried to call the owners but had no cell phone service, so we trusted that everything would be safe we we went out. We did enjoy being internet and tv free for several days. Thank you for letting us stay at your cabin.

Could've been perfect

We had a lovely stay and the location was great; unfortunately, I was charged afterward for dog feces in the yard when I had picked up after our dogs. A neighbor's dog was running loose in the area and visited us daily.

Beautiful sunsets and sunrise

We love the walks in the back yard of Lake Superior beach in our stay, wind was high so we didn’t get much in the water but did found glass and beautiful rocks in our walks . We will come back to this place again

Lake Superior Beauty

My husband and I were only able to secure a 3 day booking. Wish it could have been a couple days longer but glad we had what we had. I worried a little on day one the neighbors to the left were running a tractor, spreading gravel or something. They also had a bunch of cute but noisy little kids and dog who liked to bark at me. . Thankfully that only lasted about 3 hours and then all went quiet. The camp is clean and bright with large windows. The lake and grounds beautiful. We would definitely stay again. . Last thing. When they say check out at 10 am they mean it. We just put the last things in car at 9:57 and my husband said cleaning people are here. lol.

Rock picking vacation

The property was awesome.......kinda hard if you have a trailer with side by side. No place to turn around. Had to back up out of the driveway to back up into the driveway. Was a bit frustrating, but we did it. The peaceful and quietness of the cabin was exactly what we were looking for, and we had the best vacation that we needed. Oh, and sitting on the porch, we watched fireflies at night that we haven't seen for many years.

Beautiful Hermits Cove

We love this property, it is peaceful and very beautiful. This was our second time staying here and we already have reservations for next summer. It is in an excellent location for all things Kewenaw. This is a great location to get away from work and unplug and just enjoy lake superior.

Beautiful location.

We stayed for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed this property. The cabin is a little rustic but has a wonderful shower with great hot water and fabulous water pressure. Perfectly appointed kitchen. Private main bedroom. A lovely gathering area to relax indoors and out. Very comfortable sofas and beds. Gorgeous beach with incredible views and just wow on all the sandstone. This is a perfect location to get to all the trails in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Just remote enough but still able to get to a town for groceries and many choices of restaurants in all the nearby towns. It was just wonderful that we could bring our dogs as they are our babies now. We really appreciate the generosity in making this cabin available to rent.

Stunningly view and quiet location.

My family and two dogs had a wonderful time at Hermit's Cove! The location on lake Superior is fantastic! Its a great location for site seeing of parks, and quaint towns. This cabin is stock with everything you need and things you didn't realize you needed! We loved just sitting by the shore and enjoying the view and the sounds of the waves crashing.

Bittersweet

Been staying at Loots Loodge every summer for 6 years. The bitter part of my review is this will be my last stay at Marks wonderfull cabin. The sweet part of my review is I now have my own place on the Keewenaw Bay. I have enjoyed every minute of my time at Loots Lodge, and Mark has been a great landlord. I will miss the Lodge, but I love my new cottage.

Beautiful and rekaxing

We absolutely loved hermits cove and loots lodge. Exactly as described and more! Lots of supplies in the kitchen and very comfortable bed on the main level. We saw a bear and eagle... heard coyotes and a deer walked up behind my hubby on the beach... lots of loons... weather was perfect! Already booked a week for next summer. The only complaint is that the garbage in the kitchen was not emptied... only a little was left behind but it was just enough to stink and there was a half full bin of returnable cans... so ants. But overall it was incredible!

Lake Superior is the star

Cozy cabin, nice property, good area, and amazing waterfront of Lake Superior. The lake is high this year so there isn’t much of a beach, but we didn’t mind that. The sandstone shelfs and slabs in the water are beautiful.

It’s the Little Things

We read the information and expected the cabin to be rustic. However, there’s a difference between rustic and being prepared for the comfort and safety of one’s guests. Although there were many problems, it wasn’t a dump so, I’ll start with the positives…the bed was comfortable and the bedding was clean, there was plenty of paper products, towels and linens, and it has a nice yard. Also, I was surprised about the bathroom complaints as we found it acceptable in size and utility. I also wasn’t really bothered by the unfinished walls or exposed plumbing and wiring but, there were many unacceptable features. The furniture is disgusting, the brown chair should have been thrown out 20 years ago. It has a dark grease stain where people have put their head for so many years, the window sills are caked with dirt and grime, the cupboards doors are covered with many years of grease and dirt, the throw rugs were absolutely disgusting; they haven’t been washed in years. There were no closets or dressers so I couldn’t unpack and I found living out of a suitcase to be very stressful. The whole house was very cluttered; we didn’t even have room to put our groceries away; we had to keep them on the countertop. To keep house for 2 weeks, we were left with the smallest Dollar Store broom in terrible condition and 2 mops with filthy mop covers. When I finish cleaning my floors, I take the dirty pads off and wash them! Replacing the old cheap rubber welcome mat would have been a decent thing to do. It’s so old and worn out that the little black rubber nubs were coming off. At first, we thought they were mouse poop. So, we set traps. When we returned, there were no trapped mice but, there was more “poop”. It happened again and upon closer inspection, we realized it was the little black nubs that were wearing off and we must’ve been carrying it on on our shoes! The lack of a table On the deck was a HUGE oversight. When you have a great view of the lake, why would you want to eat your meals or do your journal writing inside? The screen house is cluttered and unswept. I was very excited about the sauna but it turned out to be a mixed bag. The sauna proper was nice but, the dressing room was cluttered and cobwebby, the ash tray was stuffed tight with ashes, there was no wood small enough fur the sauna stove. I bought 3 bundles of wood and I was only able to get enough wood for one sauna. Finally, the pictures of the beach were deceiving & should be updated.
