Meet our delightful vintage Airstream named Dina @ Wanderlust Woods. Glamping at it's finest! This 1963 camper is unique and fun, featuring retro decor and all the amenities you'll need for a comfortable stay. Whether you're coming for the rafting, hiking, checking out Gatlinburg, or just want to experience a peaceful getaway, we've got you covered. Selecting 4 -5 guests give access to small glamping tent for an extra “bedroom” with fan & electric blankets for comfort most of the year.

Wanderlust Woods is located in Cocke County Tennessee near the towns of Cosby and Hartford, 10 minutes from the Interstate and is situated very near the boundary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The natural beauty of the area is unparalleled with views of the Smokies at almost every turn. Hiking, fishing, tubing, white water rafting, and ziplining are all within a 10 mile radius of the property. Gatlinburg, TN is a 25 minute drive and Asheville, NC is just over an hour, offering guests options for fun day trips in the area.

You have the entire airstream to yourself (plus tent if you select 4-5 guests). You’ll share the spacious property (10 acres) with other glampers. Invite friends to stay at our other sites. Search for Wanderlust Woods.

You’re welcome to explore our property including 900 ft of creek frontage, a hiking trail to the ridge, and mountain views. We ask that you do not enter any other of our glamping spots and please don’t try to access the tent on your site if you haven’t reserved it. No one else has access to your Airstream or tent.

This 19’ 1963 Airstream Globetrotter includes all of the amenities you might expect with a small studio apartment or tiny home. Get ready for a nostalgic glamping experience in the mountains. The full-size bed & petite bathroom is perfect for most but less spacious than the typical bath. The kitchenette includes a 2-burner propane stovetop, mini-fridge & freezer, and coffee maker. We also have a twin-size day bed for a 3rd guest in the Airstream.

Three guests maximum in the airstream, but we have a small glamping tent for two additional guests. To access the tent during your stay, select 4 or 5 guests (even if you have less but want to use the tent). This will add an $45 nightly fee. Notes, there is not A/C or heat in the tent. The tent is not available in January/February.

Inside the Airstream you’ll be nice & toasty in the winter and cool in the summer with a space heater and rooftop AC.

Minutes from rafting & kayaking on the Pigeon river or hiking in the National Park and skip the traffic by going the back way to Gatlinburg. Nearby mountain towns of Cosby & Newport offer groceries, restaurants, and unique shops for the perfect souvenir.

No extra overnight guests are permitted and please note that smoking is not allowed inside but welcome outside. Although we love pets, we believe that an Airstream is not a pet friendly environment; therefore, no pets are allowed please.

Our address is 910 Windy Hill Way, Cosby, TN 37722 but we have found GPS falls short as you get close. There are many possible routes to get to Wanderlust Woods, some of which are one-lane roads that we do not recommend.

We suggest that from I-40 you take exit 447 onto Hartford Rd. When coming from I-40 East (from Knoxville), take a right. If coming from I-40 W (from Asheville), turn left on Big Creek Road at the end of the exit ramp. Go under I-40 and turn right onto Hartford Road at the dead end (BP station will be on your left).

In 2.1 miles turn left on to Lyndsey Gap Road. In 1.3 miles turn left on to Ground Hog Road. In just over a mile you will dead end at SR-32. Turn left. Go approximately 600ft and make another left turn on Trail Hollow Road (there is a sign for Chestnut Baptist Church on this corner).
Follow Trail Hollow Road for about 1 mile and turn left onto Phillips Road. (Be mindful that Trail Hollow Road makes a sharp, 90 degree left turn, about half way to Phillips Road.) Once you turn onto Phillips Road you will pass a house on your right. Take the first right onto Windy Hill Way. This is our road. You will go all the way to the end and Wanderlust Woods is just over the bridge.

We don’t have great cell reception at the property, so make sure you screenshot the directions and check in instructions ahead of time or log into our Wi-Fi when you get to the bridge. You can set up Wi-Fi calling on your phones in order to stay in touch with family and friends while you’re glamping.

We will offer directions that avoid the worst roads but you will encounter gravel and a few ruts coming into the property. Any vehicle can make it fine when taking it slow but a larger vehicle with higher clearance is preferred. Only in winter when there is snow and ice is 4wd required.

We provide coffee, creamer, sugar, snacks, plus all the bedding, towels, soap, TP, etc that you’ll need for your stay.

The Cosby entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is 3 mi in one direction, rafting on the Pigeon River is 3 mi in another direction, and we can show you some beautiful fishing spots for bass & trout less than 3 miles from our place.

The following does NOT apply to reservations made on Airbnb (who has their own vetting & resolution process). For all other booking platforms, guests are required to complete our pre-arrival process including a photo of a valid ID, signing our rental conditions, and submitting a valid credit or debit card to be pre-approved for a security deposit (card will not be charged just authorized in case of damage or rule violation). This process needs to be completed before check-in.
