Big Cedar is a complete resort that has a great surrounding property. There is lots of entertainment for the kids and a complete gaming building with bowling, pool, video games, and mountain climbing games. There are restaurants on property that are from breakfast areas to lunch and brunch to fine dining. The Buzzard Bar is a great place for an entertaining country singer, which is also a great place to eat. Dogwood Canyon nature Park is a short drive from Big Cedar property and offers Wildlife tram, private tours, horseback, riding bicycle, and foot tours. A short trip north is Branson where there are lots of shows to see shopping and places to eat. If you choose to go to Springfield, Missouri further north, you will find the bass pro shop flagship store. It has an exquisite firearms exhibit from guns, including Texas Ranger famous pistols, two sharpshooters like Annie Oakley. A short way south from Big Cedar, through the back roads of the Ozark mountains you can come upon a great little Art community called Eureka Springs. there are fabulous hidden places to eat in Eureka springs steep hillside, but the biggest draw for me is Turpentine Creek animal rescue. It’s a facility that rescues large cats, theirs, and other wild animals. This is not your typical zoo! These animals are in large grass areas and are treated like kings and queens! these folks are dedicated to the service of these animals, and I personally love this place! I would hardly recommend you visiting there. Great for kids. your accommodations at the lodges at Big Cedar are very comfortable. You have two full rooms with living room, kitchen and dining area. There’s a small balcony and a fireplace. Two families could very well occupy the space with great comfort. Couch pulls out for bedding for children. Top of the rock is another area next-door to Big Cedar. It is Johnny Morris’s contribution to nature. There is exquisite dining and a great museum to the old west that is worth every minute you spend there. You can take a golf cart tour of the cave areas, waterfalls, and twisting and turning trails through the property. There is even a cash bar in one of the caves! I’m sure that Big Cedar is going to become your favorite Midwest recreation area!
