A charming homestead just 5 minutes to Tofte or Lutsen, this cozy, family style rental is the upper floor apartment of our house, with its own entrance, and private decks with view of Lake Superior (no shoreline access). Featuring 3 bedrooms with linens provided, full bathroom with shower and tub, towels and soap. The kitchen is furnished and includes a microwave, and dishwasher. Relax in the living room with free high speed Wifi and TV (Netflix only). Baseboard heat is thermostat controlled.

Bring your play gear! Enjoy our private trail into the Superior National Forrest for hiking or snowshoeing. Ride your bike on the paved Gitchi-Gami State Trail or explore the excellent dirt single track at Britton Peak in Tofte. Cross country ski on the Sugarbush trail system just minutes away at Oberg, or downhill ski and snowboard at Lutsen. Swim, canoe or fish in the nearby rivers, lakes and BWCA. Sleep well under a full sky of stars. Unless the northern lights are out... then you may just want to grab a hot cup of tea, and enjoy a campfire in the back yard. Please enjoy responsibly... we like our neighbors ;)

Bring: Outdoor play gear, outdoor blanket, beach towel, extra firewood.

Groceries and good coffee are 5 minutes in either direction by car. Temperance river and Cascade State parks are 15 minutes away, and Grand Marais is 30 minutes.

Clean, comfy, great North Shore Location

Great place to stay for any North Shore adventure. Whether you hike, bike, kayak, or explore by car this is a perfectly located and very clean property! Owner has done a super job making it homey with nice linens and blankets for snuggling in during the evening. Bedrooms were roomy and if you choose to cook at the property there’s a great open kitchen, dining, living area. Outside fire pit and decks on both the east and west sides. Easy access to Highway 61 to head north or south from this spot. Owner did a great job communicating with us even as some unexpected property maintenance work took place during our stay.

Everything Perfect

Location is centrally located on the North Shore. So easy to get to all of the tourist locations. View is wonderful. House is very comfy and home like. Everything we needed was there, and then some. Beds very comfortable, and sectional in living room is awesome too. Great response to any questions from owner. Would definitely stay again.

Homey and clean. Great location.

We stayed here while visiting for an intimate family wedding at Temperance River State Park (awesome). It was myself, 3 of my young adult kids (17-22) and my 80-something parents. Check in was so easy, it was nearly non-existent! We walked into a neat and tidy home with great views of the water. We love having the option of our own space, so it was nice to have 3 bedrooms! There is a deck out front for the water views and morning sun and a deck out back to visit and relax, also. Everything was self-explanatory. Communication was smooth with very quick responses. Thank you for opening your home for us! The location is near many things to do. We had family staying at Lutsen and at Tofte. We enjoyed exploring the area for the short time we were there. Besides Temperance River, we did the Oberg Mountain Trailhead for hiking. HIGHLY recommend both. We went to Grand Marais (Worlds Best Donuts there, but are also sold at the Holiday Gas Station in Tofte if you don't make it there). We did a couple small museums. Ate at the Coho Cafe for lunch. Everything we ordered was delicious. I would stay here again if I have several ppl along, and if I ever get to revisit the area! Thank you!

Great Location and Property except for Ants

Overall the property was clean, comfortable, and well situated. The location was quiet, had a beautiful view, and was close to all things North Shore. Unfortunately there was an ant infestation, which the host was aware of and trying to resolve. We appreciated the host's quick communication and also her flexibility in allowing us to change our reservation slightly. We would recommend this place to others.

Wonderful home

Communication with the owner was awesome. Check in was easy. The location feels secluded yet right off of hwy 61. Owner gave very good directions. Google maps is accurate. The home was very clean. Furnishings were very nice and comfortable. We cooked numerous meals and had everything we needed. They provided many extras that made our stay perfect. My wife and I will definitely be back. We really enjoyed early mornings reading on the decks! Highly recommend. 5 stars!!! Absolutely no draw backs. Check out was simple and the owner gave us an extra hour to check out. Perfectly located to see all the sites on the north shore!!

Great place!

We found the location perfect for enjoying outdoor recreation in the area. It was a homey place with nice touches such as local art, extra blankets and pillows, a selection of teas, and Netflix. We found the beds and furniture very comfortable. The kitchen had the cookware we needed for cooking our meals. The oven and dishwasher worked well. The dishwasher was even quiet! Great place!
