If you live in a congested area, with children stuck in a tiny apartment, our home offers large open outdoor space and clean air. Why not invite your immediate family to spend time together in our late 19th century 3000 sq ft farmhouse with a vineyard view? Enjoy a relaxing evening by the wood-burning fireplace, play board games with friends, listen to Frank Sinatra or the Beatles' original vinyl records, or have a morning coffee or tea on our front porch overlooking the vineyard across the street. If you enjoy spending time with farm animals, Queen Mary's hosts are farmers who currently have ducks, geese, and chickens. You are welcome to come to the back to watch them in the poultry yard. Often, Rosy, the little grey and white cat will come and watch with you.
The space:
You are welcome to cook full meals using our updated kitchen (our favorite room in the house) with a breakfast bar. The house is filled with old charms and unique features. We strive to offer you a memorable and relaxing stay. Check out the antique 1950s Vibrating Exerciser Belt that still works in the dining room and the old hair dryer in the upstairs bathroom.
"Unplug" is the key to enjoying our house (although we do provide Wi-Fi for your convenience). We do not have a TV. We provide board games, cards, musical instruments, and vinyl record players (we ask that children do not use the record players but have an adult help them as they are not easy to fix or replace), a foosball table, and a wood-burning fireplace for guests to spend some relaxing time with family and friends. (Radiator heating and window AC throughout the house too) Enjoy the outdoor games, games are provided under the long bench near the back door, as well as corn hole game located on the front porch and volleyball. Spend an evening enjoying great conversation around the fireplace with tea or hot chocolate. Do some Swing dancing or Waltzing in our large dining room or wake up to the morning sun with a steaming freshly brewed coffee overlooking the vineyard is an experience that we would like our guests to have.
The vineyard across the street has live music on Saturday and wine tasting. We strive to create an ideal place for our guests to spend quality time with their loved ones on anniversaries or for family gatherings.
We will not appreciate our home being used for wild large group parties. Please inquire first if you plan to have visitors for any celebration and read through our house rules to ensure that they fit your needs. Both our co-host and us (the owners) reside in 2 other houses on the property and are available most of the evenings. Our place can accommodate comfortably 8 adults and 4 children.
Please note that we will not accept any filming requests.
Guest access:
We offer 4 bedrooms; the master bedroom with its private bathroom and a sofa bed. Please note that all bedrooms are on the 2nd Floor.
The shared bathroom has a jacuzzi tub. Additional guests and infants can be accommodated with an extra air mattress and crib.
You are welcome to walk around the property but please not that only the front of the house and the immediate back are for your use. Items in other yards are not part of the guesthouse property and you need permission to use them. You are welcome to use the tire swing.
Other things to note:
Thank you for your interest in staying at our historical house. Please read our house rules and expect a unique "Unplug" experience. WE DO NOT HAVE TV, but rather we provide a lot of board games and piano/guitar for your enjoyment. You can share your evenings with your companions with a cup of hot chocolate by the fireplace, or a morning coffee on our front porch overlooking the vineyard.
