HOT TUB: In accordance with our commitment to excellence and the Sevier County Health Department, the hot tub is cleaned and treated prior to each arrival. It runs continuously to remain heated. NEIGHBORHOOD DESCRIPTION
Hidden Mountain Lake (Hidden Mountain Resort West) is located just minutes from Pigeon Forge but in a secluded, forested setting away from the hustle and bustle of the tourism district. The cabin is located on a quiet street. You can fish at the pond just behind the cabin. No fishing license required for our community pond.
***Note about the Smokies wilderness environment-I have had a few guests surprised that they booked a cabin in a forested mountain environment. There are bears, bugs, and lots of other critters. We use a professional pest company and cleaning company that provides pictures of every nook and cranny after each cleaning. If you see dead bugs, that means the pest control working. If you see live bugs, that happens too but the pest company will go out and address the problem if it's severe, as they are on-call.
The Smoky Mountain National Park has the largest population of black bears in the nation. The black bears hibernate from mid-Dec. to mid-March. This is the best time to visit if you don't want to see a bear. We try to keep bears away from our property by having the bear-proof trash can locate away from the cabin and asking guests not to leave food or trash out, including in their cars.
***99% of the cabins in the Smokies source their water from a well. You may smell sulfur, which is naturally occurring. If you run the water for a few minutes, the smell dissipates.
