The Getaway Lodge close to Swanton & St. Albans

Fun for the kids and adults with lots of outdoor games including tetherball, horseshoe pit, and 9 hole Frisbee golf course. Also, karaoke for a rainy day. The home is a spacious one story sitting on 5 private gorgeous Vermont acres with private mountain creek pools. Plenty big enough for two families to share and up to two pets. Very close to downtown Swanton, St. Albans, and Hwy I-89. Close to Lake Champlain, wine vineyards & micro breweries, Champlain golf course, and ice cream shops.

Guest bedrooms are split on both side of homes for privacy for adults and children. Has a private workspace. Very large kitchen island with plenty of seating for up to 12 for eating. Plenty of outdoor seating and space to enjoy and throw frisbees. Home has AC/Heat for summer and winter seasons.

The home has central AC throughout but one bedroom does not have a split AC inside it but is kept at 70 degrees if windows aren't open. However, if you choose to open the windows during the summer we can not control the heat and humidity that enters the home nor can any AC fight it. The home is kept very comfortable at 70. We suggest keeping it near this optimum temperature. There are 4 box fans available if needed for more air.

Home includes board games and Smart Roku TVs set in Guest Mode to login. 3 TV's located in living room, master bedroom, and children's room. Includes Karaoke system. Just login into Youtube App to search for karaoke songs and sing your heart out.

15 minutes to St. Albans bars, restaurants, movie theater, and Walmart. 45 minutes to downtown Burlington and airport. 1 hour to Montreal area. 1 hour to Stowe and Sugar Mountain ski resorts.

Two private outdoor areas with 10 lounging chairs in the front and back. Plenty of chairs around the fire pit and plenty of free wood - but please only burn what you need for the night. A few pieces will burn for hours. Tons of privacy in the back. Extra outdoor chairs available in the garage with an extra refrigerator for drinks or fishing/hunting game.

EV Charger is in garage. Garage doors are manual.

Bring your golf clubs to practice some swings. Plenty of room to hit some balls! The beautiful golf course nearby is only 5 minutes up the road towards St. Albans if you want to play for a day.

Extra large couch, dining room table, and island to entertain the entire family(s). Outside sitting areas with a fire pit. Cut firewood available in between trees. Starter fire logs available only 5 minutes away in any grocery store in St. Albans/Swanton.

The home is also fully stocked with two fire extinguishers and a first aid kit. Local home phone line.

Entertainment Notes:
There are plenty of diners, ice cream shops, bars/pubs in St. Albans not as much in Swanton - only House of Pizza and 1 diner. No need to drive to Burlington. Plenty in town 7-15 minutes from home. There are also lots of bands playing in St. Albans all summer.

Last, this home is very rural in the woods. We strongly suggest keeping windows closed to keep ALL insects out of the home. Please make sure you close the doors and not keep them open. There are all types of bigs bugs, wild animals, snakes, bears, ex. surrounding home. So please keep them out.

AND Checkin and Checkout times are STRICT and FIRM because we have a scheduled professional cleaner. We are happy to recommend places to go if you are stuck in town. St. Albans has a lot to offer for things to do.

Tons of parking at house. 4-6 outdoor spaces, 2 inside garage which includes an EV charger too, plus extra large space on right side of the garage for your boat or RV.

All we ask is that you put any large trash bags any recyclables in trashcans provided outside next to garage. And, please load and start dishwasher with any remaining dirty dishes you might have. Much appreciated. You don't need to do anything else.

*If you brought pets please pickup after them or there is an extra $100 pet waste pickup cleaning fee if our cleaners have to pickup after your pets. Pet trashcans outside with bags are provided.

Wonderful Place

My husband and I spent two weeks at The Getaway and enjoyed so much about the property. The house was clean and comfortable, but this is much more than that. This is the best furnished rental, definitely set up with families in mind. There are baby items, games, and outdoor activities. The kitchen is better stocked than other most. Also of note is the owner’s response to concerns. We had a problem with water, and he had it addressed immediately. This is a first-rate property.

A great week at The Getaway!

When we first arrived, the house looked small to me from the outside but WOW, the layout is amazing & fit 10 of us comfortably! Paul & Tara are great hosts. They answered my questions and quickly resolved an issue we had with the heat. The week flew by! We visited breweries, went hiking, thrift store shopping, visited Canada for a day, went to Vermont Sports Car, played board games & had a bonfire,. We had a great time with our kids and grandkids! The house was perfect for our group. We especially loved the comfy beds and spacious kitchen. with answering

The property was absolutely beautiful. From the moment you open the door you just felt like you were home. We needed a place large enough to host our family which now includes three generations that spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day together. It was absolutely perfect. If I could change anything. It would just be that we took the time to enjoy the beautiful fire pit and backyard.
