Pine Cone Chalet is an all-new home set among towering trees in Glacier, Washington, at the gateway to Mt. Baker. A quick 30 minute drive to Mt. Baker Ski Area.
This modern chalet pairs stunning minimal design with lots of warm touches: earth-inspired hues, wood accents, velvet and leather textures, and sunlight-lots of sunlight everywhere!
Outdoors, there’s a deck for hanging out among the trees, a hot tub for 6 where you can soak away beneath the stars.
Pine Cone Chalet is tucked away in the woods of Glacier, in a safe and quiet neighborhood community. Our location can’t be beat, as we are at the gateway to Mt. Baker/Snoqualmie National Forest and North Cascades National Park. We are also near where Canyon Creek meets the mighty Nooksack River – meaning salmon fishing, river rafting and sandy pools are minutes away. In addition, our home is just 30 steps to a trail head that leads to Canyon Creek Woodland Preserve.
Important things to note:
Please be advised that our community water comes from a natural spring source and recent tests have resulted in a boil advisory. This means that the Washington Department of Health advises boiling the water before drinking, brushing teeth, and cooking. As a result, we have stocked bottled water for your use during your stay if the advisory has not been lifted at the time of your arrival.
As mountain fun brings most travelers to town, we are 22 miles to all the skiing, snowboarding, hiking, dining and alpine beauty at Mt. Baker. Below are a few towns and outdoor attractions you may like to check out, including Bellingham where locals head for the best eats around:
WOODLAND YARD
Our grove of Douglas fir and cedar trees beckons you to get outside and connect with the ancient beauty around you.
Enjoy coffee on the wooden deck as sunlight streams through the woodland like a scene from The Lord of the Rings. At night, take a soak in our hot tub under the glow of the mountain moon. It’s nestled among bamboo on the side of the house. As the stars shimmer above, grab another drink to toast to the good times.
P.S. Our covered front porch is a quiet nook with warm wood paneling that evokes a sauna. It has Adirondack chairs and a small table, making it great for intimate conversation.
GREAT ROOM & KITCHEN
Our open-concept great room and kitchen is where you’ll spend lots of quality time.
Modern, nature-inspired design by Rah Rah Creative of Oregon warms up this airy space where the ceiling soars two stories high and a wall of windows looks out to the forest. A natural color palette invites you to relax – whether on the brown leather sectional sofa, velvet chairs fashioned in blue, or a fluffy rug that looks like a cloud. Throws and pillows help keep things cozy, as does the concrete-tiled fireplace that reaches up to the ceiling. Movie night? Check. We have a 75” smart TV.
Our kitchen is a light-filled showpiece with Douglas fir and black cabinets, a river blue backsplash, and black farmhouse pendant lights. Cook heartwarming meals with our all-new appliances, large island and collection of excellent cookware. An especially cool feature? Our microwave concealed in a drawer – just push a button for it to pull out. We also offer a coffee & tea bar with a Keurig, K-Cup pods, tea bags, creamer and sugar.
When it’s time to eat, head to our spectacular dining table crafted from a local Douglas fir. Pull out a chair or choose the banquette which is set against picture windows. This is also the undisputed spot to play cards and board games from our growing collection.
LOFT & OFFICE
Just upstairs, our loft is intentionally TV-free. Sunlight filters in through two skylights while comforts include a gray sofa, wooden accent tables and patterned poufs.
A proper office off the loft is designed for your work remote needs, complete with a wooden desk, leather chair and tree views – plus soundproof windows (really!). A sliding barn door on the other side of the loft leads to our third bedroom.
3 BEDROOMS & SLEEPER SOFA
Our bedrooms are true retreats with touches of home including striking headboards, bedside tables with lamps, and linens and toss pillows in soft, soothing hues. Windows bring in natural light while dimmable recessed lighting lets you set the evening mood.
