A beautiful getaway home in a well established family neighborhood. Our home is located in the historic Davis Shores neighborhood over the Lions Bridge on Anastasia Island. It's close to downtown St Augustine, the beach, St. Augustine Amphitheatre and numerous restaurants. In addition, we are close to the Alligator Farm and Rookery attraction, St Augustine lighthouse, grocery stores, put-put golf course, soccer field, and a skateboard park. Boaters will appreciate a deep water concrete boat ramp with lots of parking about 3/4 of a mile away. Trailers, small boats, and large boats are welcome at our home but will need to street park on a very wide road in front of the house.
A few details about the home itself. The house was occupied for decades by one family and has lots of local history related to the previous owners. In 2020 our family purchased the home and have crafted our own touches to create a very relaxing atmosphere. The main house living area, which was built in 1954, comprises two bedrooms, Living room area, kitchen and breakfast nook. The second portion of the home was built in the early 70's and provides a large dining area and a attached studio style primary bedroom with a private bath and its own entrance. The home has been updated inside and out to modern standards but retains many of its original unique features such as a hidden old abandoned coy pond. The home sleeps 8 comfortably and two more on a quality king air mattress. The extra outdoor shower is the best one in the house and helps a lot when there is a large group staying. Another nice feature is the optional hot tub Experience. It is a late model 6-person hot tub with led lighting. For each guest stay the hot tub is drained, cleaned, sanitized, and filled with new water. We set the temperature at 102" for your arrival but it goes to 104" if you like it hot. The hot tub makes for a super relaxing time whether you prefer soaking during the day, stargazing at night or watching the birds flying closely overhead at dusk on their way back to the Rookery. Total cost is an additional 275.00 for your visit. Let us know upon booking and we will arrange it for your stay. The yard is filled with wildlife including several birds, two turtles, and lots of lizards living with us in the garden. Pets are okay for an additional fee. We think you will enjoy your stay as much as our family has over the years.
