Living in the US, I was a little more than worried about renting a property online in Costa Rica. Plus, I was planning a vacation for 12 of our friends, so the pressure was on to make sure I picked a legitimate rental. However, the property was more amazing than the photos and the service was top notch. First, Fernando with Escape Villas managed the booking (contract, deposits, final payments, etc). Then, their concierge Valerie, reached out to help us plan our vacation with things like activities, car rental services, shuttles, pre-stocking the kitchen with snacks, chef menu options, etc etc. All the little details we discussed with Valerie prior to our arrival (like having a rental car dropped off at our house) were already taken care of when we arrived at Casa Vista Azul. Once we got there, Ricky was there to meet us at check in and was available 24hrs/day to assist with anything during our stay. For example, our microwave quit working and he had a new one sent over in a few hours. He also booked a few last minute tours for us as well. The housekeepers were great and did a fantastic job of keeping the house spotless. They and even did our laundry one day! Probably the best part of our entire trip was having a personal chef. I live in Chicago and have been to some of the best restaurants in the city and Esteban's meals were better than almost any restaurant I have been to here. Having him cook for us every morning and night was worth the trip. If I could fly him here to cook for my next big special event, I would. Basically, if you are looking for a no worries vacation where all the little details can be booked and taken care of by a team of folks that are former ex-pats in a beautiful location and an amazing house, this is the place for you. And I mean, this house is BEAUTIFUL. It has a Bali-style feel to it with amazing common areas and bedrooms. My only knock on the house was that the kitchen counters, cabinets, and stove have seen better days, BUT I would rent this house in a heartbeat again. Location is superb as well. Right in the middle of Manuel Antonio's main road with bar, restaurants, and shops. Word of warning, you can definitely walk to the beach from here, but it is probably a 10-15 min walk down the main road and quite a hike back up. Might be easier to just take a cab, which are plentiful. Plus, when I was there in April/May of 2018, they had Uber :)
