Dies ist keine gewöhnliche Ferienwohnung. Wenn Sie am Telefon oder am Computer sein müssen, ist dies nicht der richtige Ort für Sie. Wir bieten einen Fernseher zum Ansehen von Filmen. Zwanzig Meilen nördlich der Mackinaw Bridge befinden wir uns mitten im Hiawatha National Forest an einem kleinen Binnensee. Trotzdem sind wir nah genug an der Autobahn und den örtlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten, um in die Zivilisation zurückzukehren, wenn die Stimmung aufkommt.

Der See ist flach und eignet sich zum Kajakfahren (3 Kajaks und ein Ruderboot sind inbegriffen), Kanufahren und Angeln. Wir sind umgeben von Wald und Wildtieren. Es ist nicht ungewöhnlich, Wölfe, Bären und in seltenen Fällen Elche zu sehen.
Der See hat 3 Paar Brut-Seetaucher, die die Luft mit dem unberührten Klang der Natur füllen. Toller Ort zum Beobachten von Vögeln. Wenn Sie Vögel lieben, werden Sie im Paradies sein. Adler, Kolibris, Buntspechte, Eisvögel, Trällerer, mehr Arten von Wasservögeln, als ich hier auflisten kann.

Der North Country Trail durchquert die Gegend und eignet sich hervorragend zum Wandern. ATV-Strecken sind ebenfalls in der Nähe. Wenn Sie gerne Rad fahren, werden Sie es hier lieben.

Der Lake Michigan Beach an der US-2 liegt etwa 20 Minuten entfernt, wenn Sie an einem schönen Sandstrand baden möchten. Tacquamenon Falls und Whitefish Point liegen ungefähr eine Stunde nördlich. Die Fähre nach Mackinaw Island ist eine halbe Stunde südlich. Sault Ste. Marie und die Soo Locks sind 45 min. Nordost.

Dies ist der Ort, um wirklich zu entkommen. Einfacher Zugang auf guten Straßen. Nur sehr wenige Häuser an diesem 1.000 Hektar großen See, da 75% der Küste im Besitz des Nationalen Waldes sind.

Beautiful & Unique

Custom log cabin with intriguing decor on a beautiful lake. The lake is shallow with a few good fishing holes. Not a great swimming lake unless you take a boat out to the left. We enjoyed taking the kayaks and canoe out. The queen size bed in the main floor bedroom is comfortable. The others are very firm. Nice sectional sofa in the main room. We did get a few tv channels and they have tons of DVD's. Good cell signal with T-Mobil. They had bird seed and hummingbird food for the feeders as well as corn cobs for the squirrels and chipmunks. We seen a pair of loons and two bald eagles! One flew low in front of the cabin and landed on the roof. First time I've seen one up close! Very quiet during the week. We could see and hear the neighbors through the thin line of trees on the weekend, but they were fairly quiet and respectful. Moran is a small town about 10 - 15 min. away. You can get basics there and gas but suggest stopping in St. Ignace, the Soo, or a larger city on the way for groceries. There is a newer, very nice Webber charcoal grill. So many hiking and ATV trails close by. We had a fun yet relaxing stay. Owner / management was quick to reply to our questions. Thank you!

Fantastic Cabin

Loved our stay! You do have to be willing to drive 2 to 4 hours round trip for numerous UP site seeing attractions. We found the beauty & peace of the cabin to be worth the extra driving.

Relaxing Family Vacation

The cabin was just like the pictures! Rustic, charming, and had everything you needed to keep all guests satisfied. Coffee on the porch every morning, games, movies, bonfires, or kayaking in the evening. Centrally located to go out and explore different experiences each day. One suggestion is to add or bring a pillow top to each bed as they were quite firm/hard. Thanks Michigan for a great time!

Wonderful escape

Absolutely amazing cabin in the middle of no where. My family and I had a great time fishing and kayaking. My kids fed chipmunks right out of their hand and a friendly female duck would come by a couple times a day and my daughter would feed her too. Our time at the cabin was great.

Majestic

Out stay was amazing. We stayed during a record high heat wave during the 4th of July week and the cabin was cool and relaxing. This cabin accommodated two families of four and made for memories to last a life time. You can relax, fish, hike, and even jump right on the near by trails for side-by-sides or snowmobiles. Conveniently located just outside St Ignace you are just a short jump away to Mackinac Island, the Locks, Whitefish Point, and many more. We loved the Dunes Beach nearby. This cabin is one that you can enjoy time and time again. Thanks Scott for your awesome hospitality.

GREAT STAY

You will not be disappointed with this cabin…one of the nicest that we have ever stayed at. Cabin is located in a secluded woods and lake setting, yet close enough to town, tourist attractions, and hiking trails. Did not see much wildlife during our last week September stay, but did see swans and ducks come up to the lake’s shoreline. Tried to feed the birds, but the squirrel scarf down the bird seed in the feeders (same problem I have at home). Cabin interior is cozy with many collectible woodmen and taxidermy items. Also, everything in the cabin is top notch including the appliances and cooking wear. We did have great cell service with internet access with our T-Mobil service while in the cabin. For going out to eat, I would recommend King Fish Market in Moran and the Buckhorn in Trout Lake… Overall, I would highly recommend this cabin and give it 5 stars!

Beautiful roomy log cabin on the lake with everything you need for your stay.

We are so happy we picked this log cabin to stay in. It was perfect and was located close to everything we wanted to see. Mackinaw Island, Soo Locks, Tahquamenon falls and Pictured Rock. Loved listening to the Loons at night, so beautiful. We had some resident Wood Ducks with their family, a squirrel and a chipmunk that came up to the cabin everytime they saw us. Very entertaining. Thank you for the wonderful experience and we look forward to coming back..

Beautiful Cabin Off the Beaten Path

Enjoyed our vacation at this beautiful cabin. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed getting away from it all and the peace and quiet at the cabin. We were hoping to see a bear or moose but we settled for deer, a porcupine and the wonderful sounds of the loons on the lake in the morning and evening. Even though the cabin is secluded, you are still close to many of the attractions in the eastern UP. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! We highly recommend to others!

East Lake Cabin Adventure

After following the one lane road deep into the woods we came upon this stunning log cabin on the lake. Once settled we started to really appreciate the beauty and quiet peace of this spacious haven. This place is definitely LOONEY, as we heard several loons calling to each other across the lake every now and then. Watched the hummingbirds occasionally buzz by the feeder, beaver swim by in the evenings and had a couple of large raccoons competing for food at the bird feeder one evening too. We had plans to use this place as a hub to travel to the many attractions in the UP but we loved this place so much we only took one short trip into St. Ignace to have lunch, buy some pasties / smoked fish, check out the farmers market and pick up a few supplies from the Family Fare. We look forward to going back again!
