Peñiscola, ein wunderschöner Ort in El Zonte. Es ist schon seit einiger Zeit in unserer Familie. Seit 2008 haben wir beschlossen, unsere Türen für die Öffentlichkeit zu öffnen.

Wonderful House with incredible views!!!

This is our second time staying at Marissa’s house! The views are incredible! My family enjoys the pool and the easy access to the beach (must climb stairs- great exercise). The place was a bit dusty but I’m sure it’s because of the constant wind. The day we got there, there was some wind storm at night! The housekeepers are very helpful. Very nice family. The house is about 1/2 hr from a supermarket, so you have to plan ahead. There isn’t a big selection of restaurants to order from, unless you leave the house and drive to some close by restaurants! Marissa was having work done at the house during our stay, which was an inconvenience for us and I wasn’t made aware. Marissa checked in on us and I brought it up to her attention and she was very receptive! I was also confused about check in and check out time. The app has it listed for 10am check in and 7pm check out, when I spoke to Santos (housekeeper) he said it was 12pm but that we could leave by 1pm latest. I feel like communication needs a bit of improvement. I should’ve reached out to Marissa, but at that point it didn’t make a big difference for us. My husband and kids love the house and they look forward to coming back every year! El Salvador is a beautiful place to spend a family vacation in & this place has made all the difference!

Paradise

My second stay at peniscola and wont be my last. For those of you curious.... private beach, private pool, ac, wifi, tons of places to veg out, relax, read and soak up beauty. El Zonte is a special place... a little off the beaten path but so much the better. The pictures dont do it justice..sunsets are magical. Santos/Karen are such a pleasure and super helpful...at this point I consider them friends.

Unique Luxury

Fantastic coastal property with spectacular views, luxurious grounds, friendly and helpful staff and great accommodations. Great for a romantic get-away or a large family reunion. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay - the beach with private access, outdoor shower, pool area, outdoor dining, gazebo for dramatic sunsets, and expansive grounds. Beachcombing, night-time ocean dips, and the sunsets were our favorite. We were also close to wonderful 3 and 4 star dining. We will definitely return as soon as possible!

A fantastic house rental overlooking the beach and ocean

We visited for 8 days and the house was great. The house overlooked a nearly private beach that we went swimming and surfing at every day. The owner was very helpful in getting all of our needs met. I'd recommend this house especially for multiple families.

The pictures don't do it justice

This property far exceeded our expectations. Came here for a 9-day surf trip with some friends and was completely blown away. There are three main hang-out areas: the main house with 3 bedrooms and a large open veranda with a bunch of hammocks; the gazebo on the point, incredible view; the west residence which houses the kitchen, 2 bedrooms and abuts the pool. Pool very, very nice and relaxing. Private steps down to a private beach and a hideaway, super-refreshing outdoor shower. It is a walk to the main surf point but well worth it for the beauty of this house. It should also be noted that the 2 bedrooms in the west building do not have air conditioning, but everyone was quite comfortable with the ceiling fans nonetheless. Santos and Karin took exceptional care of our party. Cooking when we asked, guiding the uninitiated into La Libertad for supplies on occasion. I have been to Playa El Zonte many times but most of my friends had not. Now they will all be coming back.

Oceanfront paradise!

My husband and I stayed at Casa Peniscola five nights during the first half of our honeymoon in El Salvador. This house is amazing, with truly gorgeous views from any spot on the spacious property. As others have mentioned, the master bedroom is spacious and filled with light, while the other four bedrooms (with 2 twin beds each) are smaller and more basic, but certainly clean and suitable. The kitchen is well stocked if you are cooking your own meals (as we did), with great grilling options on the back patio. We did not rent a car, but often caught the bus which passes on the street outside the gated driveway. It is .25 or .50 cents for a bus ride down the coast to other surf spots (Sunzal etc.) or to La Libertad. You can walk 10 minutes to surf El Zonte point break, or surf the beach break in front of the house. We found we didn't really need a car at all. Our favorite aspect about the house was the many different spots outdoors to sit or relax- from the shady gazebo overlooking the ocean to the three giant hammocks, to cushioned couches, wooden tables, breakfast nooks, poolside lounging chairs, etc. etc. The landscaping is impeccable as well. From the property, you can walk down the spiral stone staircase to the ocean (passing by an awesome outdoor shower!), to explore a magnificent natural arch/cave and black sand beach. Such an incredible spot!!! Finally, Santos and Karin were lovely and helpful hosts. Thank you, Marisa, for giving us such a fabulous experience and memorable honeymoon!!!

What an amazing place!!! It was true that it was even better than you could imagine. The staff, Marisa, the food, the gorgeous beach and the property were perfect. It was so great to have the ocean at your doorstep for surfing but then the 10m pool to cool off in. My husband, 2 kids (14 and 16) and I enjoyed the relaxing location but with the help of Marisa and Angel, managed to go to San Salvador and to the Ruta de las Flores as well. Would recommend this villa very highly.

Very peaceful stay in a unique and beautiful place

This was one of the most amazing places we've ever stayed. We had a great time here with our three kids, aged 3-11. We loved the mellow beach that was right down the stairs, for swimming and playing in the sand. We really liked the easy walk on the beach to El Zonte, which was accessible almost always except at the highest of tides, and going through the tunnels which are beneath the property. The caretakers were thoughtful, kind, helpful, and really fun to be around. We hope to be back for sure! The property is well designed on a very special piece of land.

Sunsets!

I just arrived home yesterday from Villa Peniscola. The propery is in a great location, 45 minutes from the airport. It is really beautiful with fantastic views and gardens. The caretaker and housekeeper/cook do a great job making sure your stay is all about relaxing. Immediately below the villa is a half moon beach which feels like it is private 90% of the time. The surf is great and really fun. We had epic sunsets every evening. Highly recommended.

Wonderful house and private surf beach!

We`ve just returned from our vacation in El Salvador where we spent a week. It was wonderful! The house was much better than described. We enjoyed magnificent master bedroom and big patio with hammocks for rest.The seaview was wonderful. Housekeepers ware very friendly and they did everything, what we need. Every day they brought us and cooked really delicious seafood. Very private beach.We went surfing every day just a few steps from house. There is a restaurant near the house, and sometimes on saturday they let out young turtles to the ocean. We really liked this place and we would like to return there again! Thank you very much!

New Year vacation for 11

The house was great and worked really well for our group with the kids getting to enjoy the beach and the pool. Santos and Karen looked after us very well, cooking our meals and helping out with any requests such as going into town to get fish and groceries. Too Good to be True

Stayed a couple of Days in El Zonte Beach. Such nice people and safe surroundings. Peñiscola is a great place to stay, excellent location. You can see both sunset and sunrise at this time of the year. The house has all the amenities you may need and even more. The staff is very helpful and efficient. I really recommend this place, in my opinion the best property in the area.

Peñiscola is pretty much all you could ask for in a Central American vacation rental. The grounds are well maintained and provide gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean at every turn. The houses themselves are clean, well-appointed and full of character. Overall, the pictures do not do Peñiscola justice. Santos and Karin were great. At first it was actually a bit confusing as to what they were supposed to do and what we were supposed to do, since we did not expect them to be so helpful. In the end, we basically let them take over, which made our vacation all the better. I would definitely recommend having a car, since the house is not very close to a town. It's a very easy drive from the airport. If you are content to sit at the house the entire time, then perhaps a car is unnecessary. We enjoyed the freedom of it, though. Surf board rentals were $10/day at a place nearby, the surf at the house was OK, perhaps a bit better a short walk down the beach. Overall, an excellent rental. I have traveled throughout CA and this was one of the best spots. Great for really anyone (we were twelve mid-twenties celebrating Thanksgiving). All the best!

Coastal Living

The perfect El Salvadorean get away. We travelled with 10 adults all with surfboards, camera equipment and the like. The house is gorgeous, safe and has a live in family that will not only cook amazing food, they will help you navigate and plan your vacation. The pictures absolutely do not do the property justice, come here, relax and truly experience what central america has to offer.

Peniscola Paradise

Peniscola is a truely lovely corner of the world. This house sits on bluff just above the beach, with stunning views that allowed us to watch both sunrise ant sunsets over the ocean (I'm guessing only Nov-Feb). The house is very well maintained, the staff are lovely and very attentive to everything and anything we needed, and the cook was awesome. There are two houses on the property, the main house sits on top of the property and has an open air salon with lovely views. The second house sits below, next to the pool, and has two additional bedrooms, the kitchen and dining area. This suited us perfectly as our teenagers could enjoy some separation!. The rooms are airy and comfortable, especially the master bedroom. The best thing about this house is the location, a simply fantastic spot, with the most amazing views of the beach and Pacific. It is El salvador at its best.

Absolutely Amazing Location and Staff

This was our 2nd visit to El Salvador to visit my husbands family. Last visit, we stayed in a hotel and toured the country in a guided van with as many family members that could come. It was hectic and hard to coordinate everything. During this 2nd visit we were looking for a way to relax and enjoy the family. This 5 bedroom house was a great way for the family to stay with us. The best part was the on site chef was amazing and preparing food for 4 up to a group of 12. The property location is AMAZING. THe pictures do not do it justice. We loved the open living room space with TV, seating and 3 hammocks. The pool was perfect to cool off mid-day when you didnt want to walk down to the secluded beach with a private enterance. My husband enjoyed surf fishing on the beach. The locals sold us lobster they caught during the day which made our dinners amazing. The onsite service provided us access to private surf lessons for only $25 for the hours - this was fun for many family members are participate in for the first time. The master bedroom is the best. The other 4 bedrooms are more basic - but perfect for our situation. We plan on coming back to El Salvador - and this property will be visited again. It is a guaranteed good time, great place to relax, and just plain beautiful. Dont hesitate to book this place. You will LOVE IT!

Beautiful Place

The Place was better than the pictures, I felt very lucky to have stayed in such a beautiful and well taken care of house.. The staff was great, very attentive to everything and anything we needed, the cook was awesome. The house is European Style with details that date back to colonial times. One of the biggest decisions we had to face on a daily basis was either to enjoy the pool or the beach; which was private, clean and with rare black volcanic sand that is soft and shines in the sun like if it has diamond particles on it. The rooms are big airy and comfortable, I definetly recommend this house, not only is it architecturally beautiful but is on the greatest spot, with the most amazing views of the pacific, it is El salvador at its best.

Comfortable, Fun, Family Vacation

I lived in El Salvador for 4 years and have continued to visit the country every few years for the last 15 years. I've traveled all over and stayed in many different locations. El Peniscola is one of the best places to take your family for the price. It is comfortable, the accommodations are great, the staff is friendly and reliable, and it is a fun and secure place to stay for the whole family or a group of friends. Marisa bent over backwards to make our vacation fun and comfortable. She arranged for a van and driver. She also provided a nanny to watch our two small children so that we could enjoy being together as a family and also have the ability to get away during nap time or in the evenings. It was one of the most memorable family vacations we have ever had.

Great place to take visitors!

I have lived in El Salvador for almost 2 years and have taken almost all of my visitors to this beach house. It is a great way to show off El Salvador; a really amazing place. The house is spacious and has two sections of bedrooms so depending on the group you bring, you can create a lot of privacy that way. My favorite places are the pool - at night you can see the stars while taking a dip in the pool, the hammocks outside the upper bedrooms with an amazing ocean view, and the balcony that hangs over the waves crashing. I did yoga out there a couple of times, staring at the waves, and it was amazing. I just hope I get to go back a few times before we leave El Salvador.

You could live on the beach and that's all you would need

The house was done in a colonial Spanish style that overlooks a wonderful beach that makes for amazing sunsets and beautiful nights. This place is very relaxing for meditation and stress-relief purposes. It's secure, reliable, and by far one of the most isolated black sand beaches I've ever experienced. The beach alone is worth 5 stars. Im not sure you can find a better beach house in el Salvador, but it will be hard to beat. I would utilize the trained staff while visiting, they are friendly and accomplish most of the tasks that are given. It is isolated, so make sure you bring a car rental or driver. Would be my ideal place to stay for a vacation in el Salvador.

The view in the whole Villa is beutifull. There is never to hot because it is located on a cliff.
The comfort of the house is very special and anyone who has been in Peñiscola all they want is to come back soon. It´s a magical place.
