Jekyll Winter Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sparse furnishings but clean and comfortable. Location quiet, in a nice neighborhood. Unfortunately, house went up for sale during our stay by a different realty. The actual owner contacted us and we were told our roof would be replaced during our stay and would take just ONE day. It took 2 days and was loud, messy, and VERY inconvenient to stay there!! Jekyll Island Realty was sympathetic and apologetic for the situation. Aside from the above mentioned situation, any other concerns or requests during our stay were attended to immediately by Jekyll Island Realty. Kudos to ALL of their staff. We appreciated Anita’s concern and help throughout the inconvenience.

Bird watching on Jekyll Island

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent 12 night birding around Jekyll Island. We were able to observe lost of migrating song birds while sitting in chairs on the back proch. The bushes had Painted Buntings, Red starts, and Cape May warblers. Fall migration is an excellent time to visit this location.

Minimalist bare home in great location

This house is in a great location near St Andrews Beach, a great spot to observe wildlife and learn about history of enslaved people on the island. It is spacious and quiet, and the beds are very comfortable. But it is very minimally furnished, which gives is a cold, bare vibe. There is also no comfortable spot to lounge and enjoy the scenery - the living room with comfy sofa is windowless. It would really benefit from having sofa facing back garden, and window shades open, since most visitors want to enjoy the beauty of the island, not watch TV (which is what the sofa currently faces). The kitchen also is lacking many of the homey amenities that most vacation homes have - no coffee, no tea, no spices.

Great quiet house on Jekyll

Loved this house! Very clean and comfortable with everything my family needed for the week. Actually comes with more than the listing says (we were supplied with paper towels, dish soap, beach toys in the garage, etc). Would absolutely stay here again.

A Great Get-a-Way

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house looked newly renovated and it was beautiful inside and very clean. The appliances were new and very nice. The only issues we had were that the furniture was sparse. There wasn't room for our family of 6 to sit together in the living room comfortably at one time. The other issue was with the white cooktop on the stove. It would get discolored every time we used it and we would have to clean, clean, clean it. It is very quiet and peaceful on the south end of the island and we enjoyed our stay despite these 2 negatives.

Quite beautiful home

The house was very clean, neighborhood is quiet, perfection location to hit the beach at St. Andrew’s or the soccer fields and avoid the crowds! Garage access was nice to park bikes and put other beach items in safely. Kitchen amenities were also nice and clean. Plenty of room inside to spread out. Would stay here again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was in a perfect location. If was absolutely perfect for our needs with three bedrooms and two baths. It needed a lamp for the TV room, coat hangers for the closets. You brought these items to us. It needs clothes rods in the closets, a pair of scissors in the kitchen, and small mixing bowls. a curtains on the kitchen window would be nice for privacy. The floors needed sweeping when we arrived.

Family trip for Mothers Day with adult children

Everything went well, from booking, to the phone call the day of to let us know the property was ready, to the amenities and the lovely home. There *are* paper products, a well-stocked kitchen of appliances (not condiments), very clean 2 FULL bathrooms, and even what could be a FOURTH bedroom. It's sparsely decorated, which felt a little cool, but everything worked, and there was enough linens, furniture and even a 2 car garage. The property is on a quiet, lush upscale street away from the ocean side. But, walkable to the west side beach. Go food shopping at Winn Dixie before Jekyll because there is a daily fee to enter the island and really no grocery stores. The restaurants are pricey, but all of the beaches are family friendly and there are picnic tables and restrooms.

Great property

The beds are very comfy; however, the only pillows on most beds were the decorative ones, which wasn’t a problem for us since we travel with our own. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, and the dishwasher looked to brand new, but did not work. We would definitely stay here again.
