Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. "The Calico Cottage" is a guest house located on our 10 acre estate that gives you quiet serenity, lots of open green space, plenty of parking, (including for your boat).

You are safe! Inside is a CASPR unit which removes 93.19% of all viruses!

The space
• Located between two quiet neighborhoods.
• Access to indoor hot tub, fire pit, and shared basketball pole.
• Washer, dryer, and ironing board so you can do your laundry.
• Off-street parking: four parking spaces in front of the house, additional parking upon request, free EV charger for electric cars.
• Living room contains a 65” 4K smart television.
• Every bedroom has it's own individual smart TV.
• Fully equipped kitchen.
• Dedicated workspace so you can work from home.
• Guest house is part of a duplex.
Guest access
Guests will have access to their entire side of guest house with the exception of one small storage closet.

Outside of the guest house, you will also have access to some of our exterior amenities, including our fire pit, patio, and a shared basketball hoop. You are also welcome to take a walk or play games in the fields on the back 8 acres of our property.

All exterior amenities of the estate are shared with the main house, so you may encounter us while you are using them.

PARKING: There are four well marked parking spaces directly in front of the guest house. You are welcome to use any and all of them.

Lovely Cabin Centrally Located

Beautiful property centrally located. Very easy to get around to Columbus, Polaris Mall, Easton Center, Worthington, and Delaware. There are so many amenities-everything is on premise. The owners thought of everything so there is no need to bring a lot of extra items. Very clean and nicely decorated.Would highly recommend for couples, family, fur baby parents, and parents with young children.

Girls weekend

"I booked the cottage just a couple of days before my arrival, and everything went smoothly. The owners were great at communicating, and the cottage was perfect—equipped with everything I needed. I felt completely safe on the property. Having traveled to all 50 states, I can confidently say this is one of the best rentals I've found on VRBO. The owner even provided excellent restaurant recommendations. I'm hesitant to share this gem because I want to keep it a secret, but I will definitely be back!"

Holiday stay at the Calico Cottage

What a lovely visit at the Calico Cottage. We have family in Powell, and we’re always looking for a close place to stay with our dogs. This was the perfect place, in a great area with just the right amenities. The only downside was trying to get our dogs to leave the amazing dog park on the property. They absolutely loved it too! Will definitely be back.

Great Get Away

Such a cute, homey feel! The dog park was a big hit with our dog, being a city dog, he doesn’t usually get to zoom off leash. Nearby beautiful neighborhood with sidewalks for dog walks. We wanted for nothing, very well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Hot tub was lovely! The hosts even accommodated a late check out to better facilitate our travel home. It was a great get away.

Nice little getaway!

Doc and Carrie were fantastic hosts. The place was very clean, very comfy and in a great location. We enjoyed our weekend mini trip going to the zoo, shopping, and dining. The dogs had a blast at the dog park playing frisbee everyday. We will definitely be back!

Rural Paradise

We found our perfect place to stay, while visiting family in Ohio! The owners/hosts were very kind and approachable for conversations. They attended to any needs, promptly. A lot of thought was put into their property and units to accommodate anyone and any age, from electric toy vehicles, basketball, corn hole, hot tubs to fire pits! The fenced in dog park was a plus. The unit itself had everything one would need for a relaxing stay! We will definitely be staying here again, when visiting Ohio.

Weekend fishing trip

Stayed at Calico Cottage while on a fishing trip to Alum Creek Reservoir. Great location. Minutes from the lake, stores and Cabela’s. Extremely clean and every necessity you could possibly need was provided. Would definitely come back on our next fishing trip.

A Nice Place To Stay

My wife and I have stayed at the Calico Cottage once before and the adjoining Mad Cat Inn once. Every stay, including this latest one has been enjoyable. The owner and his wife are very friendly. We travel with our 27 pound Pembroke Welsh Corgi which we securely pen when not at the cottage to supervise him. There is an acre or more fenced dog yard with a fire pit and seating. (A big plus for us.) On this trip we visited family and friends. We also traveled to Kenton on April 8, 2024 and observed the total solar eclipse. We had a very memorable and enjoyable visit.

Tidy and accommodating

We were in town from Florida to meet our new grand daughter and this rental was perfect for our needs. We brought our 2 small dogs and they loved the dog park. Doc was very responsive and kind and we'll definitely stay here again if we are back in town.

Nice get away

Very nice property and pet friendly. Our husky loved walking the pasture and playing in the dog park. Doc could not have been any nicer. Property very clean and in great shape. Bed was nice and soft. Outstanding stay. Could not have asked for anything more. The wife the husky and myself all left happy and ready for the new year. Thanks Doc.

Great property

My husband and I spent 3 nights in this lovely guesthouse. The host was extremely attentive and very thorough with the information provided. The property was clean, nicely appointed, and in the perfect location to shopping, restaurants and even the OSU campus where we attended a basketball game. We didn't use the hot tub but we did enjoy the ping pong table in the toy barn. I'd recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the area.

Cozy and Convenient

Calico Cottage had everything we needed and more. We stayed for 2 nights, when in the area for a family event. I was impressed that there were even dog bowls and pet wipes, which made it very welcoming for our dog. She loved running in the fenced in dog area too. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Fabulous!

This cottage is fantastic, especially if you have a dog. The dog park made our stay so much better because our pooch was able to run and play off-leash. The cottage is neat as a pin, and Doc has thought of all the little details to make you feel right at home. Will definitely stay again when in Columbus!

The property was as shown in the pictures. It was incredible clean on the inside and was above expectations! The best part of this property is it’s convenient location to food, shopping and short drives to plenty of fun things to stay. Will definitely pick again if needing a place in the area again!
