HISTORY: Designed as the nation’s first suburban shopping district for the automobile, the Country Club Plaza was the vision of developer J.C. Nichols. Seeking to create a real estate development that captured the allure of Spanish marketplaces, Nichols purchased several small lots of land in a swampy and undeveloped area in 1907 and opened the Plaza’s first buildings in 1922. Originally nicknamed “Nichols’ Folly,” the Country Club Plaza’s Moorish architecture now features more than $1 million in artwork, comprised of the district’s fountains, murals and more than 30 statues.

There are taxes collected in addition to the fee) There is fenced yard and the neighborhood is perfect for walking! There is a $500 fine for any unauthorized pets.

*Cancellation Policy*

Full Refund: Cancel at least 30 days before check-in for a full refund.
50% Refund: Cancel 7 to 30 days before check-in to receive a 50% refund for all nights.
No Refund: Cancel less than 7 days before check-in and the full amount will be charged. Cleaning fee will be refunded.
Special Exception: If you cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in, you will receive a full refund.

Great location!

Place was really great overall! The only downsides I would say is that 2/3 beds were...just okay, and also there was only one bathroom (which we knew going in, so not that big of a deal but still something to think about). Nice place to stay for easy access in KC!

Comfortable stay

The house is clean and has a good kitchen. The house itself is quite old, with older doors and windows. But the heating works well, so the weak insuLation isn’t a problem. It is cheaper than comparable options locally so is not perfect but we had a hood stay.

Property was great. The house was clean with great decor and comfy bedding. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware and basic spices which was nice. Coffee bar was awesome as it had all of the methods of making coffee! My only cons were it was annoying to have to go through a 3rd party process to verify myself and receive check in/check out info. I would have liked to access everything more easily through VRBO instead of navigating communications so the a property management company—it was very confusing at first that I couldn’t find any info about checking in or the address to the property. In the other hand, the property management’s website was great once I received the link the morning of our stay. If would have helped to have that info the day before so I could have communicated more easily with the group of friends. Overall, great experience and one I would recommend.
