Let me first start by saying Christina is a good host. She was easy to reach when we couldnt find the entrance to the building (it is on a side street on the back side of building).
We were passing through Memphis on our way to Florida with our teenage son and his friend. My husband and I had been to Memphis years ago and thought the boys would enjoy seeing Beale Street.
When we opened the apartment door, the first thing that hit us was the smell. The apartment smelled strongly of marijuana, to the point it overwhelmed us. We unloaded our things and left for the evening, hoping it would dissipate. It did not. We got back and the boys went to settle in on the sofa. There were bits of marijuana in the couch cushions and in the console. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and the bed in the bedroom did not appear to have fresh linens. We couldnt find any towels, but did later find them in the laundry closet. The bedroom had no bed pillows, only throw pillows. We did not shower in the morning as we did not find the towels soon enough.
I did let Christina know about the smell, and she said she was aware. If you're having and adult getaway and just want to have some fun on Beale Street, I'm sure this would be fine. It was not appropriate for our family.
As a plus, definitely visit Gus's Fried Chicken if you stay here! It was handily the most fabulous meal we had on our journey.
